7 Benefits of Being an Author

Greetings Chatters,

I added a new title to my accolades last week. I am now a book author as I’ve contributed to the Glambitious Guide to Self-Love, Peace, & Confidence which is launching this month. I’m so excited!

To be clear, this is the second anthology I’ve contributed to, but it’s the first to be published. So I guess that makes this my first book!

When I heard of the opportunity to contribute, I was immediately on board because I knew the benefits of being an author. Today I wanted to share seven benefits of becoming an author, as they led to my decision.

1. Include it as a new project under your belt.

As entrepreneurs, we are constantly creating and inventing new things. While it helps fuel our passion, it also helps to keep us relevant.

2. Establish yourself as an authority in a particular field or industry.

It’s an understood fact that experts write books, so if you want to be viewed as an expert….

3. Gain a new level of respect.

Piggybacking off #2, people respect experts, of course, but really people appreciate authors because they know not everyone can write a book.

4. Contribute to a piece of specific knowledge.

Being an author allows you to contribute to the knowledge of a specific matter or issue. Sometimes it can help to sway public opinion.

5. Garner more speaking opportunities.

Being able to say you wrote a book can increase public speaking opportunities, as you are now an expert.

6. Grow your platform.

Readers make loyal followers as they connect with some part of you while reading your work. If you are looking to build a community, books are a great addition.

7. Create a passive income.

First, let me say you do have to market your book, and obviously, I’m new to this as far personal experience, but I’ve had several clients who are authors, so I know that work is still required. However, if you put the proper systems in place, it’s one way to make money while you sleep.

So there you have it, the reasons why I decided to add author to my name.

The Glambitious Guide to Self-Love, Peace, & Confidence book launch is on February 20, 2022, at 6 PM EST in the Glambitious Group on Facebook. You can join the group here. I hope some of you will come out (virtually) and support.
