Be Uniquely You

We live in a world where society tells us what we should be, HOW WE SHOULD LOOK, or how we should live. According to social media, to be liked, happy, or PRETTY, one must look this way, dress that way, or find the source of this wig. Due to society’s pressures, it’s easy for us to conform TO the mold of society and forget who God created us to be or to love ourselves because we constantly compare ourselves to others.

Throughout the last few years, I struggled with self-esteem and self-confidence because I constantly compared myself to others. As someone without curves or who is overweight, I found it challenging to love my body. I wrestled with my identity in Christ because I wanted to be like the influencers on social media I was seeing. I struggled with my gifts because of the lack of support and hate I experienced on social media. I struggled with being the uniquely me that GOD created me to be.

As I had to encourage myself, I want to encourage you as well. It’s time to fully embrace being uniquely you! Being the uniquely you GOD created you to be. Being uniquely you is one of the most amazing things about you. Your uniqueness is what GOD gave you to distinguish you from others.

Whatever makes you uniquely you, embrace it! Whether you have natural hair or a 20-inch weave, whether you wear no make-up or a lot of make-up, whether you wear bright, vibrant colors or neutral colors. Embrace what makes you happy, not what social media or others SAY WHAT YOU SHOULD wear, WHAT YOU SHOULD do, or WHO YOU SHOULD be.

Embrace your flaws. Embrace your weaknesses. Embrace your beauty. Embrace everything about you. Embrace knowing that YOUR “IMPERFECTIONS” are perfectly made by GOD. The Bible says you were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14).

The moment you begin to accept and embrace your true uniqueness in Christ, you begin to become liberated from comparing yourself to others and their opinions.

Thank you for reading this article. I hope you were encouraged. GOD Bless!
