Fans Are Identifying BIG3 Player Cuttino Mobley As The Real “Uncle Drew”

Back in 2018, NBA point guard Kyrie Irving made a temporary transition from the NBA limelight in order to showcase his basketball skills under the Hollywood spotlight, as he played the role of a street ball legend from the late 60s. With a touch of Hollywood magic, Irving’s appearance was altered from a 26-year-old to a gray-haired old man. Looking forty years older, Irving flexed his fancy dribbling skills, lethal shooting, and creative drives to the basket. The movie, Uncle Drew was a hit at the box office, and currently, a BIG3 League basketball player is getting a lot of recognition on social media because he reminds fans of the Uncle Drew character.

Former NBA guard Cuttino Mobley is receiving a lot of attention during the course of the BIG3 season due to his performance on the court and his mature-looking appearance. The 46-year-old has hair on his head that is predominantly gray, and his beard is a perfect match. When BIG3 fans view Mobley’s appearance and observe his productivity on the court, they immediately think of Uncle Drew. Fans of the BIG3 League have published posts on all social media platforms regarding Mobley’s appearance being a reminder of the fictional movie character.

Cuttino Mobley was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After a stellar high school basketball career, Mobley would go on to play college basketball for the Rhode Island Rams, and in 1998 Mobley led his college team to an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. He was selected in the second round of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets, and he played 11 seasons in the NBA with a career average of 16 points per game.

During his pro career, Mobley was an efficient player who provided instant offense when he stepped on the court. Currently, as a member of the BIG3 team Power, Mobley displays the same brand of play regarding his accurate jump shot and versatile offense in the post. With his scoring and leadership skills, Mobley is looking to help Power win a second BIG3 League Championship within a four-year span.
