Fleeing Suspect In The Death of Rapper PnB Rock Arrested in Las Vegas

The fleeing suspect in the death of rapper PnB Rock is arrested in Las Vegas.

A man that was apprehended in Las Vegas on Thursday, and his 17-year-old son, who was taken into custody two days prior, have both been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of rapper PnB Rock. The senseless incident occurred on September 12 at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles restaurant in South Los Angeles.

When the 30-year-old rapper arrived at the restaurant, he made an Instagram video in the parking lot while sitting in a Cadillac with his girlfriend, who is also the mother of his youngest daughter. The couple entered the restaurant, and sometime later, PnB Rock’s girlfriend posted an Instagram story that consisted of a photo of her food and the name of the restaurant.

Approximately twenty minutes after she published her post, the unfortunate event occurred.

While dining inside the restaurant, the rapper was wearing an extensive amount of jewelry. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect entered the restaurant and approached the rapper’s table. The suspect demanded that the victim surrender his jewelry. A verbal exchange occurred. The suspect shot the victim multiple times, took his property, and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital, and a short time later, he was pronounced dead.

Once PnB Rock’s shooting death information was released, the general public pointed the finger at the rapper’s girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang’s Instagram story. They assumed by her revealing their location on social media, the assailant saw the post and then he came to the restaurant to commit the robbery. Even the investigators validated the theory as a possible scenario.

Two days later, the IG post theory was still intact, but instead of the girlfriend’s IG story, authorities believed the video PnB posted of himself at Roscoe’s location led to the shooting.

As the investigation continued, the evidence revealed to authorities the fact that social media wasn’t a part of the equation.

A 17-year-old male and his father were already in the parking lot when PnB arrived. The 17-year-old entered the restaurant, committed the robbery, exited the restaurant, and his father, 40-year-old Freddie Lee Trone, drove the getaway car. On Tuesday, the minor was taken into custody along with a female adult. Shauntel Trone, the wife of Freddie Lee Trone and the stepmother of the minor, faces one count of accessory after the fact.

Once Freddie Lee Trone was apprehended in Las Vegas, he was slapped with the same charges as his son, which are one count of murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. The 17-year-old, whose name hasn’t been released to the public due to his status as a minor, appeared in juvenile court on Thursday, September 29, and he’s scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing on October 19.

PnB Rock, whose legal name is Rakim Allen, was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He released his debut mixtape in 2014, and he signed a deal with Atlantic Records the following year. He was best known for his hit single “Selfish,” his feature on Ed Sheeran’s “Cross Me,” with Chance The Rapper, and his feature on YFN Lucci’s song “Everyday We Lit.” Rock’s latest song, “Luv Me Again,” was released a few weeks prior to his death.
