Hot Girl Summer is drawing near. In a previous article, we discussed getting our fashions ready for the summer. In addition to having the right wardrobe, it is imperative that we have our skin care game on point. There is nothing worse than seeing someone in a dope outfit with bad hygiene. I am going to give you a glimpse at some of my favorite skin care products and discuss building a shower/bath routine that will keep you fresh and glowing all summer long.
First, let’s talk about facial products. There are a ton of products on the market for skin. I am not reppin’ any particular brand, but I will highlight what I am currently using. Fenty Skin has been a literal game changer. Rihanna did her thing with this line of products. In addition to the whole facial system, I use Clean Skin Club Clean Towels XL to dry my face.
I highly recommend using these towels instead of your traditional bathroom towels. These single use towels are 100% biodegradable, ultra soft and bacteria free. By using these towels you will be able to reduce symptoms associated with various skin conditions, acne and breakouts.
The next vital step in your skin care routine is your shower/bath routine. Your routine is whatever works best for you. But I do want to highlight some tools that will elevate your bathing experience. One thing you want to invest in is a dry skin brush. Before you get in the water, brush over your entire body. The next step is to lather and wash using exfoliating gloves. I do a second wash using a silicone scrubber. I promise after using a scrubber you will never go back to using a wash cloth in the shower.
The products you use in the shower is completely up to you. Just make sure to include a body scrub, a body polish, a moisturizing body wash and a feminine wash. This may seem like a lot of steps, but I am telling you it is so worth it. You will emerge fresh and clean with soft, glowing skin.
The final piece is to complete this process with a good shea butter and body oil. These two together will keep your skin moisturized for the duration of the day, and will create a great base for your perfume. (That’s another conversation for another day).
With these tools, all you need is a signature summer scent and you will be ready to hit the streets, and live your best life.
