Pusher of the High-Value Man Fantasy Kevin Samuels Has Passed Away

The death of controversial self-proclaimed relationship guru Kevin Samuels has sent shockwaves throughout social media. It was not until May 6 that his death was confirmed by his mother, Beverly Samuels-Burch, after she stated, she found out of her son’s death via “social media.” Kevin Samuels is leaving a legacy of so-called truths that oftentimes degraded Black women. With supporters saying that he “spoke their truths” and co-signed the behaviors of those who disrespected women on levels that would make your stomach churn.

Samuels touted himself as an “image consultant” and per his YouTube description, he is an image consultant, influencer, and life and style consultant with more than 1.4 million followers. He also had 1804 patrons subscribing to his paid subscription on Patreon.

His most popular videos were “Modern Women Are Average at Best? “and the conversation starter “How Much Do You Cost to Submit?” Samuels last impression before his death was him proclaiming that unmarried women who are 35-years-old and over are “leftover women.” This feeds into the devaluation of Black women by Black men.

Samuels go-to statement in many of his videos was always, “whether you want to hear it or not, I’ll go with you. I’m telling you the truth that you don’t want to hear.”

The truth of the matter is that he made it a point to degrade and disrespect women by discussing their looks and accomplishments as if they were not acceptable. He targeted a group that is unprotected and always used as controversial conversation starters and often compared Black women’s worthiness to other races. His death is being celebrated by some but not all. Black women should not be expected to mourn someone who set out to continuously devalue and degrade them.

Ironically, Kevin Samuels passed away in the same way he often rudely declared that many women of today would. Alone.
