It’s official, Read With Carylee has reached its 100th episode! Join them for a fun-filled event celebration. It will be a week-long celebration LIVE on Facebook and YouTube with bedtime stories, 7:30 pm EST, October 2nd to 8th.
Read With Carylee, created in 2019 by children’s author Carylee Carrington, is a literary children’s program for children ages 2-9. This program prides itself on empowering diversity in children’s literature by featuring mostly self-published/indie authors. This groundbreaking show has been a grassroots show, helping authors widen their audience and helping children and their parents expand their bookshelves. Read With Carylee takes a nod from Reading Rainbow, but in a unique way. It creates a connection between children’s authors and their readers that builds excitement for children and helps to promote their growing love of reading.
“This is the little show that could. We went from welcoming DC area authors to a coffee shop in Manassas, Virginia, to authors from as far as Australia. One hundred episodes is 100 books and stories that have gotten the ability to reach many more children. Allowing them to know that books can truly take you anywhere, and they can unite us as well,” said Carylee. Read With Carylee has quickly become a global fan favorite and has taken the literary world by storm.
Carylee is constantly seeking ways to expand the reach of this show, even recently filming a pilot to promote to various media outlets. Read With Carylee has been proud to showcase authors from all across the United States and now four continents. She invites children’s authors from all around the world to read their books to her YouTube audience.
The show has been able to have various special guests on-air, such as Dr. Artika Tyner, Derek Kent, Sheri Fink, and Markette Sheppard, to name a few. Carylee plans to continue to add to the incredible guest roster in the future. For the 100th episode celebration, Carylee will be commemorating this moment with Ashley Mills Monaghan, Shayla & Payton McGhee, John Light Jr., Jennifer Roberts, Melissa Collesano, Jessica Parham, and other returning guests.
The show is looking forward to bringing readers much more into the books they will share. Carylee has had to be in her home studio throughout the pandemic, but now she hopes to get out and see more of our viewers and readers. About Read With Carylee: Carylee Carrington is an author, entrepreneur, and literacy advocate. She resides in Northern Virginia with her two boys, where she enjoys an active lifestyle. Originally from the island of Jamaica, Carylee grew up in New York City before making Northern Virginia her home.
