Sunday Set Up: Episode 1

In our first episode of Sunday Set Up, Dawn Michelle introduced herself and her segment to the SwagHer Magazine audience.

She kicked off the episode with some housekeeping items and let the audience know that her show is a safe place for positivity and good vibes only.

After enjoying a woosah moment with the audience, Dawn discussed how we can change our way of thinking and not just look forward to Friday but every day.

The correspondent then had a brief Emmy recap and discussed winners like Sheryl Lee Ralph, who won for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy with Abbott Elementary. She also praised Quinta Brunson, who won outstanding writing for Abbott Elementary, which she also created. Shouts out to Lizzo and Zendaya, who also took home an Emmy.

Dawn then transitioned into the senseless death of PNB Rock and spoke of the importance of keeping some things to yourself. She urged the audience to think before posting everything, especially their whereabouts in real-time. The hostess suggested that the audience take the photos, make the reels and create the content, then save it for posting at a later time. Too many people are out there watching what you do and wishing you harm. Let’s not give them an advantage.

She also mentioned the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

As Dawn will also be sharing a tip to help you get through the week, she spoke about sex trafficking and the new ways traffickers try to set traps and lure unsuspecting women. Her tip of the day was to carry a cheap pair of tweezers in each bag you have. If you ever see a random tissue or flyer on your car, don’t touch it with your hands or a tissue. Use your tweezers to remove it and throw it and the tweezers away. Always report suspicious activity to authorities.

Dawn gave the audience and sneak peek into what they can expect from future shows and urged them to create the week ahead that they want.

Watch Sunday Set Up live each Sunday at 8 PM ET/ 7 PM CT.
