This Author’s Passion for Writing Will Win You Over: Meet Anastasia Jackson

Author Anastasia Jackson, also known by the pen name Anniee Bee, has had a deep passion for writing from a young age, starting in her grade school years. With an unbreakable bond with words, she has crafted her literary journey.

Her path was illuminated by a pivotal moment when she dared to seize an opportunity and complete her very first book. The spark of inspiration that guided her then continues to fuel her creative fire, promising a captivating literary experience for every reader. Presently, she is diligently engrossed in shaping her upcoming novel, a testament to her unwavering commitment to her craft. Rest assured, Anastasia’s literary endeavors are primed to win over your heart and mind.

The novelist also has a football team of boys that she plans to show the world. Learn more about her below.

Fancy: What sparked your interest in writing?

Anastasia: There was a fifth-grade book assignment. My fifth-grade teacher gave the class a blank book with no cover, nothing. Immediately, my creative juices started flowing. From that day forward, I wrote short stories, poems, and even my first play. That was one of the best school assignments I’ve ever had because now I’m an author with over twenty books.

Fancy: Tell us more about the book you’ve recently finished writing. What is it about?

Anastasia: My latest book is called A Sacred Place.  The book is based around teenagers that had to grow up quickly. There’s a guidance counselor who feels she can fix the situation but not factoring in her marriage is falling apart. Will the teens be able to finish high school, or will they have to drop out prematurely?

Fancy: What was the writing process like for you?

Anastasia: My writing process is always different for each project. I can start a project and stop because the story isn’t flowing. I don’t force any stories; they must flow. So, lately, I’ve been taking my time. This book was started in 2019, and the book was released on Juneteenth 2023.

Fancy: Where do you find inspiration for your writings?

Anastasia: I find inspiration in real-life situations. My books deal with everyday problems, be it a cheating woman/man, bad parenting, domestic, and so on.

Fancy: When you say you have a team of boys, do you mean you have several sons, or are you a coach?

Anastasia: Two sons and a bonus son. So three boys. I consider that a football team because if you know like I know… Boys can eat!

Fancy: What will your new novel be about?

Anastasia: My next novel will either be A Sacred Place 2, completing the series from my love story (When Paths Cross- A Dope Love Story), or We Were Just Friends. I haven’t entirely decided which one, but I can’t wait to complete them all.

Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Anastasia, Anastasia?

Anastasia: My swagher is confident, bold, and free, and what I mean by that is, at one point, I wasn’t confident. I let things in life distract me from my purpose. Now that I’ve reclaimed myself, I am better than ever!

Anastasia is a risk-taker. What’s life without risk? If the opportunity presents itself, I will take it.
