Tina Faust is a wife, mother, owner of a skincare empire, former model, and beauty pageant winner. She’s a native of the U.S. Virgin Islands who came to America with her family as a young girl. In middle school, she began participating in pageants and couture fashion modeling before pausing to study accounting at the University of Phoenix.
Since then, she has gained a wonderful life with her husband, Kenyatta, in Athens, GA, where they are raising their two sons.
Bella by Tina Foy honors Tina’s sister, Bella, who died several years ago. The vegan skincare brand provides essential skin creams, cleansers, beard oils, and more for women and men. Launched in 2020 to provide simple skincare solutions to women like Tina, it’s become a Godsend for people with skin problems. Having dealt with acne since adolescence, Tina was determined to create something that would keep her skin clear, nourish the skin, and give it a natural glow. As a model, Tina had tried many skincare products, from name brands to everyday brands. She designed the solution to her own problem in creating natural products.
Besides being a busy entrepreneur, Tina had the honor of being crowned Mrs. Georgia Imperial Nations in both 2021 and 2022. She placed first runner-up in the 2021 national competition. Tina has proudly represented her family and her brand in numerous magazine features, podcasts, and contests. Keep your eyes open; her story is still being written.
SwagHer: What makes Tina Faust, Tina Faust?
Tina: Tina Faust is a woman who has been through a lot in her life but has always come out stronger. She believes that the trials and tribulations she’s faced have made her who she is today and that she’s learned a lot about herself because of them. She thanks the people who have both loved her for who she is, flaws and all, as well as those who have hurt her along the way—because it has made her stronger and more resilient than ever before.
SwagHer: What inspired you to create your own vegan skincare brand Bella by Tina Foy?
Tina: My inspiration for the line was myself. I’ve dealt with skin problems since I was a child, and they always made me feel self-conscious. My confidence was also majorly affected by how my skin looked with breakouts. It only became worse when I became pregnant. After my pregnancy, I decided to find a solution to my problem, and what resulted is my Bella by Tina Foy skincare line!
SwagHer: How was your life transformed after you were crowned Mrs. Georgia Imperial Nations?
Tina: I was crowned Mrs. Georgia Imperial Nations in 2020/2021, and it changed my life for the better. I’ve always been passionate about autism awareness, so being able to use my platform to bring awareness to this important cause has been a dream come true.
Now that I’m a Nations title holder for Imperial Nations, I’m able to use my crown and sash as a way to spread awareness about our organization and the community service we do throughout the year. The crown and sash also help me connect with girls who are interested in pageants and want to get involved in their local communities—and that’s exactly what I want!
I recently won Mrs. Imperial Nations 2022 last month, which means that now more than ever, it’s important that we all work together as one community…and now I have a bigger voice than ever before!
SwagHer: Did your new title help popularize your vegan skincare brand?
Tina: I’m a mom, wife, business owner, and pageant queen who is here to show you that your skincare routine doesn’t have to be complicated—even if you’re a busy person. So yes, my new title has popularized my skincare brand a little. In my opinion, I believe that with this title, people see me as an influencer.
SwagHer: Name the top five items in your skincare brand and how they would be beneficial in someone’s skincare regimen?
Tina: Our top five items are Cucumber Botanical Daily Cleanser, Cucumber Botanical Eye Gel, Duo Tea Face Mist, Perfect 10 Oil Cleanser, and Glow Universal Primer.
They’re all easy to use and effective—I use them every day! The only two products I don’t use every day are the Oil Cleanse and the Primer. The Perfect 10 Oil Cleanser is great for removing makeup or just giving your skin some extra hydration at night before bedtime (or when you wake up in the morning if you sleep in!). And I love using the Glow Universal Primer underneath my makeup because it keeps everything in place all day long without feeling heavy or greasy at all!
SwagHer: How is beauty power?
Tina: Beauty is power. We don’t like to admit it, but we all know that people judge a book by its cover. It’s a sad reality of life that we can’t just look at someone and see past their outer appearance, but it’s true. If a person is beautiful on the outside, they’ll often get more attention than someone who doesn’t have that kind of beauty power—and they may even get treated better.
However, I believe that beauty on the inside is more important. Being beautiful on the inside makes you beautiful on the outside to me. You can be beautiful on the outside but if your insides are ugly that just makes you ugly in my opinion.
SwagHer: Why is it important for everyone to have a skincare routine, and how can your products be filtered into someone’s routine?
Tina: A skincare routine is an essential part of maintaining healthy skin. It allows you to remove dirt, oil, and other impurities from your pores so that they can breathe easily. My products are designed to make skincare simple and effective. They are easy to use and a little goes a long way. The best parts of the skin care package are that they can filter into anyone’s daily routine with no problem!
