Your August Holiday & Observance Guide for Content

Here’s your August Holidays and Observances Guide for Content. Happy August 1st! The year is moving right along, isn’t it? Last week I had finals for school, deadlines for work, and travel with my daughters, so forgive me for sending this the day of.

You can use these to :

  • Create content for your website or blog
  • Create content for your social media
  • Draft pitches to pitch yourself to press outlets
  • Be inspired for a sale or promo

We use them for all of the above.

Of course, this is not the full list of observances, and I only pull out the ones that I think will suit you all. You can also search monthly observances and see if you find something more. I would suggest looking at more than one calendar as many do not include every holiday and observance. One of my favorites is Brownielocks.

How to Incorporate These into Your Content

You do not have to be in a specific industry to capitalize on these days. You may have a friend or business bestie who is a chef or a breastfeeding nurse, and you can spotlight them and their work. That is just an example.

Another example is for National Rum Day, you can create a reel of your favorite rums. You can do the same thing for National Nonprofit Day or share images (or a reel) of you volunteering with your favorite nonprofits.

Why Reels?

The reason why I am pushing reels so much is that the algorithm favors reels right now, so why not take advantage of that?

Pitch Tip

If you are using these as a pitch, then you can say something like, “With so and so day approaching, I wanted to reach out and see if you are working on stories about…
