Tiffani Teachey is an amazing Engineer and Stem Advocate, who is also a bestselling author, speaker, founder of Thrive Edge Publishing, LLC., and a Publishing Consultant with Inspired Authors Publishing, LLC. This powerhouse has her hands in making the world a better place, especially for young children and parents.
As a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Advocate, Tiffani strives to educate young children and parents on the importance of STEM Careers and representation. She is an award-winning author of the children’s book, “What Can I Be? STEM Careers from A to Z”, available in Spanish, French, and Swahili. The book is a coloring and activity book and has a teacher’s guide as well.
With her passion for inspiring the next generation to engage in STEM careers, Tiffani is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and enjoys being a youth mentor.

“Tiffani’s Moment”
Tiffani: It was the moment when I was speaking to kids about being an engineer and many had never met an engineer. It was then that I realized the importance of representation in STEM and decided to put it in writing and became an international bestselling author and launched Thrive Edge Publishing, LLC.
We would love to hear about your books and how can we find them?
Tiffani: What Can I Be? STEM Careers from A to Z is an inspiring and easy-to-read alphabet picture book that teaches our next generation about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers.
This book provides colorful illustrations of six diverse children representing various STEM careers (i.e. astronauts, doctors, scientists, and engineers, etc), helping children (5 to 8 years old) see themselves in one of the STEM careers, and motivates them to shape their future through STEM! This book is also available in Spanish, French, and Swahili, a coloring and activity book, and as a teacher’s guide.

What was the feeling like when you first became a best-selling author?
Tiffani: It was on Christmas Day when I woke up and saw that I was an international best-selling author. I was grateful, inspired, and excited when I became an international best-selling author. I felt that it was an amazing feeling to be able to create a book that is making an impact and appreciative of the recognition.
What was the journey like for you to complete your Master of Science degree in Engineering Management?
Tiffani: I decided to continue my studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and get my Master of Science degree in Engineering Management right after I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was a graduate student and did an internship while completing my Masters of Science degree in Engineering. It was a great experience to tie in both the engineering concepts and business management processes.
What keeps you motivated to continue your STEM advocacy work?
Tiffani: I am motivated to continue my STEM advocacy work because I know that I’m making an impact for many of our youth that may not know how STEM can make a difference in this world. I enjoy helping our youth and shaping our future generation of STEM leaders.
What are you currently working on?
Tiffani: I am currently working on creating another children’s book with a character-specific storyline tied to STEM careers and activities.
What is a super fun fact about yourself that many people may not be aware of?
Tiffani: I have an adventurous side and have been skydiving, surfing, jet-skiing, horseback riding, and atv riding.
Happy Black History Month! How are you celebrating this time of the year?
Tiffani: I am doing various Black History Month authors events such as collaborating with various authors during Black Children’s Book Week events and sharing our books.
What does the rest of 2022 look like for you?
Tiffani: The rest of 2022 the best is yet to come. I will continue to promote my children’s books with book vending events, speaking opportunities, and more. My next children’s book will be out in Summer 2022.
