Need ways to collaborate on Instagram?
If you haven’t noticed, collaborations are the reigning strategy on Instagram right now, whether it’s a brand owner and their brand or two or more brands collaborating together. Collaborating is critical to growing your audience and supporting each other. Here are three powerful ways millennial Black women can team up to boost their visibility and success on social media.
Host Joint Live Sessions
Imagine the thrill of collaborating with fellow businesswomen by hosting live sessions together. These joint live sessions will not only allow you to share your expertise and discuss industry trends but also engage with each other’s followers in real-time. This fosters a sense of community and expands your reach, creating an exciting opportunity to boost your visibility and success. I’d make a list of potential collaborators to develop a pattern and keep the momentum going.
Create Collaborative Content
By combining your unique perspectives, you can produce more engaging and diverse content that resonates with a broader audience. You all can co-create content such as blog posts, videos, or social media challenges. Lately, I have been using my articles and interviews as collaborative tools. Earlier this month, my reach was 80,000. It’s dropped to 40,000 now, but I only have 5,555 followers.

Share Each Other’s Posts
Support your fellow boss queens by sharing their posts on your stories and feeds. This cross-promotion helps introduce each other’s content to new audiences and boosts engagement for both parties. It’s an easy way to collaborate without all the thinking and planning involved.
Things to Keep in Mind
Remember that for these collaborations to work successfully, the person who makes the post needs to tag the other person or persons as collaborators.
Depending on their account type, you may not be able to use commercial music.
The other person has to have their account set to accept tags. To do this:
Click on the three lines at the top right corner.
> Settings and privacy
> Tags and Mentions
> You will see the Who can tag you setting with the following options:
- Allow tags from everyone
- Allow tags from people you follow
- Don’t allow tags
You can also find the setting for mentions on this screen.
Have fun collaborating!
