The timeline of events has reached a new headline, why is the FBI working to find Black Live Matter activists and silence those that promote communities working towards equity goals for America. Why are they targeting the ones already under attack? In the Summer of 2017, the Counter-Terrorism team sent out an ‘intelligence assessment’.
As of September 2016 here’s a timeline of threats and deaths around activists:
9/6/16- Darren Seals is found shot in a burning car in St. Louis -Â Seals was well known in the city as one of the many who sought justice for Michael Brown in the last two years since a white police officer shot and killed the unarmed black 18-year-old.
12/12/17- Rakem Balogun arrested for Domestic Terrorism - Texas-based community organizer Rakem Balogun says he exercised his constitutional right to free speech when he publicly praised Micah Johnson, the lone gunman who killed five Dallas police officers in July 2016.  The father of three said he was shocked to later learn that agents investigating “domestic terrorism†had been monitoring him for years and were arresting him that day in part because of his Facebook posts criticizing the police.
2/7/18- Muhiyidin Moye shot and killed by an unknown assailant while on a personal trip to New Orleans, Louisiana - At 1:30 a.m. on February 6, 2018, New Orleans police received a call about a man lying on the ground asking for help on Bienville Street. They found Moye with a gunshot wound to his thigh. A mountain bike was found nearby which had blood on it. Moye was rushed to the hospital where he died.  The blood trail went for some blocks where a bullet fragment was found.  As of late February 2018, New Orleans police believe “Moye may have been the victim of an attempted armed robbery.”
10/17/18- Danye Jones found hanging on a tree near his home in St. Louis -Â St. Louis County police spokesman Shawn McGuire said Thursday that there were no signs of struggle or trauma to the body. “Detectives, based on all the physical evidence and the current thorough investigation, they are investigating it as a suicide,” McGuire said in an email.
These are the facts. Black Lives Matter has been known to be one of the strongest coalitions in America working towards social injustice where it’s leaders are not easily identified. It started off as a hashtag. It seems, however, the government is well aware of the leaders and those supplementing their support to the cause. It is isn’t surprising, however.
A lot of Black folks were highly upset with the Obama Administration’s lack of effort in revamping the way police departments across this nation handled on the street interactions with Black residents. It is our responsibility as Black America to be relentless in our pursuit of change. There will continually be Black blood on the streets if we are not paying attention to the ones we are passing down the laws.
Voting is important. Become a community leader and if there isn’t any leadership, well you got the job already then.
Be safe out there friends.
