On September 17, a cool evening in Dallas, I attended the single release and listening party for Asshole in Gold. The event was hosted in the Downtown district of Dallas, at Sneaker Politics in Deep Ellum. I loved non-traditional places for events, and this was just that. I feel it brings out the personality of the purpose. The music was jamming, and the people were mingling; I would say it was a successful event.
Asshole in Gold is a Texas rapper who is from Houston but resides in Dallas at the time. When asked who does he make music for, he replied, “Texas.â€Â He desires to grow Texas and to grow Texas as a culture.Â
Burn for Me, Gold’s hot new single features the Texas Legend Scarface. Being a Scarface fan, I could not wait to hear it.Â
I asked Gold who he was influenced by growing up, and he said the legendary Pimp C.Â
