Patrice: What is your Swagher? What makes Pamela, Pamela?

Pamela: My Swagher is being resilient. The power of prayer has allowed me to overcome adversity. It has allowed me to be in a spiritual place that I am able to bounce back from anything that was meant to destroy me, alter my destiny, or abort the mission that God has assigned to me.

Patrice: Tell us more about your business and the audience you are trying to reach with your services.

Pamela: My business is two-fold. It is ministry and business. Some will argue that you cannot mix the two, but I do not believe that I can efficiently do business without ministering to myself and ministering to others through business. The ministering side is speaking and writing books for women who have faith, but they feel like they are in a cycle, not advancing, and keep getting set back. I help them to overcome adversity and become resilient through the power of prayer. The business side is I serve as a Mentor to Non-fiction, Christian, and Inspirational Authors helping them develop the mindset of an author, coaching them through the self-publishing process, and helping them to create simple marketing plans to avoid overwhelm.

Patrice: What is your inspiration behind being a Mentor to Author?

Pamela: It being difficult to find someone to walk with me through each step. Not being able to find anyone to teach me the business of books and things that I should have known before I started publishing inspired me to be that for other authors. I want to help authors understand what is required and things that they must do before they write their first sentence or publish their first book, and then I want to help them get their message out through their books.

Patrice: The movement #healedlifewholewoman sounds very empowering. How did you come up with the idea to create this platform for women?

Pamela: My own life experiences. Before I understood how important it was to heal, I would see my mess show up later in other areas of my life and that is what I am seeing with other women. It is showing up in their life, in their posts, in the way that they do business so I want women to know that before you can be a whole anything: a whole businesswoman, a whole entrepreneur, a whole wife, a whole friend, you must be a healed and whole woman. Being healed makes every other area of your life fruitful and productive.

Patrice: As an entrepreneur, have you faced any challenges? If so, how did you come up with a solution for them?

Pamela: Absolutely. Challenges come up all the time and while there is no cookie cutter solution for every challenge that has came up, the basics of solutions require me to think creatively, be open minded, and to understand that what may work for one Speaker, Author, Mentor may not work for me.

Patrice: Are you working on any current projects? If so, what are they?

Pamela: Yes, I am relaunching my book from last year, “While at the Altar” as well as working on a mentorship program for Authors where I help them to create a marketing package to gain exposure and sell more books.

Patrice: What has being a black woman in business taught you?

Pamela: Oooh! Being a black woman in business has taught me I must support and collaborate with other black business women, that I must utilize every resource available to my specific culture, that I can expect a no from decision makers where others who are not like me will get a yes (with less experience), but I must be resilient and persevere, that I can’t let a no from others determine the value that I bring to the world and to the space that God has designated me to be in. Being a black woman in business has taught me that we are beautiful, blessed, and that we cannot be stopped.

Patrice: Have you faced any diversity of being an entrepreneur?

Pamela: Not in a broader sense, but I have experienced being told no when someone who does not look like me has been told yes.
