6 Ways Meditation Improves Your Sex Life

While we know meditation is good for your mental wellness, who knew it was also good for your sex life? Author Justyn Comer shares six tips on how meditation can help your sex life below.

Decreases Stress

1)   Stress kills the mood

No one feels amorous when overwhelmed by the pressures of work, family,  and life in general.  Meditation can help get this block out of your way.

2)   Stress is exhausting

You don’t sleep well when you’re stressed.  Then the stress keeps you on edge all day and you’re exhausted long before the day is over.  With meditation you can ease the stress, and still have the energy for sex by the time you get to bed.

Improves focus, Decreases Distraction

3)   Give your partner your full attention

Meditation improves our focus – noticing where your mind is from moment to moment – training us in refocusing when we’re off somewhere.  No one likes a distracted lover, meditation helps you be fully present with your partner.

4)   Learn to listen fully – it’s the ultimate aphrodisiac

Everyone says you should listen more – but how do you do that?  Meditation teaches us to focus, to notice when we’re distracted, and to refocus.  THAT’S the key to listening properly.  Listen fully to your partner and make them feel fully seen, heard, appreciated, and loved – and they will want to love you back.

Wake up to the present moment

5)   Don’t have sex on autopilot.

We brush our teeth on autopilot, not really thinking about it.  We can drive to work, to the shops, or home on autopilot, we don’t need to focus.  After a while sex can be the same if we don’t pay attention.  We automatically fall into our routine of you do this, I’ll do that.  Meditation is all about waking up to the uniqueness of the present moment, and brings back your aliveness to today’s sex.  It brings back the intimacy, and makes sex special again.

6)   Become more sensitive to your partner

Meditation helps you get out of your head and more in touch with your deeper, far wiser, more intuitive self.  This makes you more sensitive to each reflex and reaction of your partner helping you just know what the next right move is.  It’ll almost make you seem like you’re psychic.
