There’s a meme that says: Vote based on agenda, not race. Well duh, it’s not as if Georgia voters aren’t doing the research or we’re uninformed, but are there some voters who really are just working with a “Issa Rae at the Emmy Awards vibe�
“I’m rooting for everybody black†doesn’t work out as well when it comes to choosing the policies, ideals and actions of a governor that’s about to govern a WHOLE state. Although Stacey Abrams is a groundbreaking gubernatorial candidate and can make national history as the first black woman Governor in America, how much do we really know about her agenda?
For anyone who hasn’t voted yet, here are some quick, comprehensive figures of what Stacey stands for and why it matters:
Stacey Abrams on Poverty:
As Governor of Georgia, Stacey will ensure that the money you earn is the money you receive through an Earned Income Tax Credit. If you’ve ever received an Earned Income Tax Credit, you know that it’s really about that life! Growing up in a family that was classified as “working poorâ€, Stacey knows about working hard and still not making enough to get by. She will also create a financial education and wellness program to help families build a strong foundation. She’ll fight to end workplace discrimination and expand employment opportunities to help disabled Georgians.
Stacey Abrams on Healthcare:
As Governor, Stacey’s administration will fund mental health services so people can get the help they need and not be abused or disgraced by society. The Abrams team will leverage government programs to encourage more doctors to help in poor communities. She will work to expand the Medicaid program in Georgia and  help lower the price of healthcare.

Tuition-Free technical college y’all! That’s right the Abrams administration will help people get quality education and skills, and not go into debt while getting it. The team will support the Bold Start Scholarship program to provide affordable, quality childcare for all families. A good education should not just be for rich kids, so as Governor Abrams will help fully fund public schools and fortify them with programs to improve the quality of education for all kids.
Stacey Abrams on Criminal Justice
Provide pathways to restoration by Increasing diversion and reentry programs. That means helping people put their energy into progress over prison, and not completely throwing them away for simple crimes like small amounts of marijuana. Cultivate effective community policing. Stacey Abrams aims to engage with community members to address the issues that impact the quality of their lives. Critical issues won’t keep getting swept under the rug with Stacey as governor. Justice will truly work on the behalf of everybody if Stacey is elected Governor.
For the most part Stacey Abrams has been putting in the work that she says she stands for before ever running for Governor. Her being elected would be a continuation and expansion of the amazing work she’s doing on a larger, more impactful scale.
