April Ryan: “Sean Spicer Wants to be Relevant.”

White House correspondent and journalist April Ryan called in to SiriusXM’s Joe Madison Show to respond to Sean Spicer’s recent comments that she is after “personal fame.”

April Ryan: “… Sean wants to be relevant.”

“…I want everyone to know I’m ok …You have to understand why Sean is saying this.  Sean wants to be relevant.  He wants to be relevant.  OK?  Sean Spicer, when he left the White House, could not get a job.

That’s one the reasons why he was on the Emmy’s, or whatever show that was with Colbert, pushing the podium.  Because his agent was getting him gigs.  No one wants him.  He gets a job with FOX.  Only thing he can do is rail me and go to the Kentucky Derby and that’s fine.  Sean is out of a job, he’s got a book coming out.  That’s fine, but I have got one coming out in September…”

Backstory:

Apparently Spicer made this statement after Ryan suggested that Sarah Sanders threatened a “physical fight” with the WH journalist when Ryan asked about misstatements made by Sanders.
