Fancy: As your bio says, your portfolio is very diverse. Was that always your intention or was it something that occurred that way?

April: Building my diverse portfolio was actually a happy accident. When I started out, I had no idea I’d end up with the wide range of expertise I have now. I’m a big believer in continuous learning. Each new challenge on my entrepreneurial path is a chance to learn something valuable, and I make the most of it. This not only broadens my own skills but also allows me to pass on this knowledge to my clients when they find themselves in similar situations on their own journeys to success.

Fancy: We know that you are a former military member. What did you do during your time in the army, and do you feel like it prepared you for the success you are experiencing today?

April: In the army, I took on roles that required a lot of responsibility, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills that are super important in business. The discipline, resilience, and knack for handling pressure that I honed during my military service have been key to my success in the tough business world.

Fancy: What type of clients do you work with for business coaching?

April: I primarily work with entrepreneurs, from small to corporate business owners, who are seeking to grow their businesses. My clients come from various industries, reflecting my diverse expertise and ability to adapt to different business needs and challenges. My primary focus is process development, operations, business strategies, and marketing strategies. In addition to this, I help businesses navigate the world of government contracting.

Fancy: Regardless of their stage, when business owners are looking to grow their business, what are some habits or tasks that they practice daily?

April: Successful business owners usually have a few things in common: they set clear goals, keep their tasks in order, build a solid online presence, keep learning, and network a lot. They also regularly check in on their financial health to keep their growth on track. Plus, having strong processes or SOPs in place is key. Basically, knowing exactly how your business should run is crucial for success.

Fancy: So, sis, what are you including in the leadership presentations that keep you in demand?

April: My leadership presentations are all about real-world stories, practical tips, and engaging interactions that drive personal and professional growth. I zero in on down-to-earth strategies for making the most of your resources, leading effectively, and building a mindset that’s all about innovation and bouncing back stronger.

Fancy: Please tell us a little about your books and board games.

April: Most of my books give readers the insights and strategies they need for business success and personal growth. Besides the seven books I’ve penned, I’ve also created a goal planner and a financial planner designed to help manage both personal and business goals and finances. The board games I’ve developed are all about boosting strategic thinking and financial literacy, especially for young people. They make learning about life, business, and investing fun and engaging. I’ve even designed a networking game that’s shaking up the way we do networking events. Plus, I’ve crafted games for clients that are both educational and entertaining.

Fancy: Do you have any upcoming projects that you care to share?

April: Season Four of my podcast/talk show, ‘Talk Uncensored,’ kicks off on June 15, 2024. It’s the place where we dive into real-life topics, totally uncensored.
