Dr. Richelle Resto

One of Dr. Richelle L.Resto’s favorite sayings is, ‘Your Tears Have Purpose!’ Dr. Richelle was born in 1975 in Chapel Hill, NC, and is a native of Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Resto is a model example for education. She has received the following degrees, Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development from North Carolina Central University, Master of Science degree from North Carolina Central University, Masters of Theology degree from Isaiah College and Seminary, and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Leadership Capella University. Dr. Resto has served in several leadership roles in her professional higher education career through advancement to now serving as a Dean of Academics in Washington D.C.

She is the published author of books titled “The Gifts of Life Nobody Wants”, “All Eyes On Me to Achieve My Destiny”, and “Behind Closed Doors: Married to the Church, My Wife is My Mistress”. These books offer spiritual nuggets and strategies needed to triumph over years of pain and is written from the perspective of a woman who had to learn how to fight through the tears and overcome obstacles.

Dr. Resto has been instrumental in overseeing various departments within the community and various ministries. She has assisted with implementing viable children’s tutoring programs within several organizations and has had the opportunity to train various organizational departments on servant leadership styles. She is the Founder and President of a monumental women’s ministry called the Spiritual Daughters Movement. This movement has empowered, encouraged, and equipped women around the country to reach their zenith in the Body of Christ. Dr. Resto is known for her clever mentoring and a leadership style that instills into people that life is a vast opportunity of unlimited possibilities! Get better acquainted with the doctor below.

AllisonJanel: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Dr. Richelle, Dr. Richelle?

Dr. Richelle: My swagher is packaged with an authentic style, charisma, conceptual ideas, and wisdom. I am dedicated to sharing realistic, accessible, sassy, fun, cheeky, and sometimes confrontational information needed to make people’s dreams become a reality! I believe in Making Transformational Moves!

AllisonJanel: Just for clarification, did you start out teaching in the classroom?

Dr. Richelle: My educational career started teaching as a preschool teacher and then flourishing into the higher education sector.

AllisonJanel: What sparked your interest in writing?

Dr. Richelle: Writing is my passion and not my hobby! I’ve been journaling since my high school into my adulthood years. Many of my journals are memoirs of short stories that have been captured from various life experiences.

AllisonJanel: So you’ve authored three books, “The Gifts of Life Nobody Wants”, “All Eyes On Me to Achieve My Destiny” and “Behind Closed Doors: Married to the Church, My Wife is My Mistress”. Which is your first one and which is the most recent?

Dr. Richelle: My first book was the “Gifts of Life Nobody Wants” and my latest book, “Behind Closed Doors: Married to the Church, My Wife is My Mistress!” was released on April 4, 2020.

AllisonJanel: “Behind Closed Doors” sounds more like a novel, is that correct? If so, what was it like switching genres?

Dr. Richelle: I’m an inspirational and self-care writer and switching to a non-fiction Christian novel was a challenging but enlightening experience.

AllisonJanel: Do you have any other book projects or events in the works?

Dr. Richelle: I’m currently completing the Destiny Tours from my second book and conducting author spotlights at Barnes & Nobles in the area. This is keeping me rather busy but so rewarding and life-changing.

AllisonJanel: Please tell us more about the Spiritual Daughters Movement.

Dr. Richelle: Spiritual Daughters Movement has a personal commitment to assist women with becoming a better and more effective YOU! We enable women to learn applicable tools and proven techniques that will transform lives in Jesus Christ. We walk in the core values of Living a VICTORIOUS Life in Jesus Christ. The pillars of the SDM are Friendship, Strength, Love, Unity, Courage, Power, Inspiration, and Elevation.

AllisonJanel: How do you practice self-care?

Dr. Richelle: My favorite motto is ‘Self-Care is Right Care’. My self-care activities are taking plenty of breaks, getting massages, laughing often, eating healthy foods, and spending quality time with family and friends.

AllisonJanel: Are you using your social distancing time to write more?

Dr. Richelle: I’m spending a great deal of time wrapped up in my Snuggie, resting and preparing to write the sequel to “Behind Closed Doors: Life of the Pastor, Preacher & Priest!”
