Kai A. Pineda has been in ministry for 20 years and is a pastor, teacher, author, and worship leader. Her desire is to see God’s heart revealed to humanity in a way that people step into the freedom of God, and not the traditions of the church. She longs for an encounter to happen within the Body of Christ where we exchange our agendas for His, pursue His love, and Prepare The Way for His return. She has committed her life to be an ambassador for Christ and to help in leading this and the next generation into a beautiful relationship with Jesus Christ. Her debut book, Dear Church – Vol l, released on October 3rd, 2019, is a letter to the Body of Christ about unity and our need for one another. She is currently preparing to release Volume II, while also leading a faith-based coaching program. Kai has been married to her husband Pastor Alexander Pineda for 11 years, and together they plant home fellowships within the U.S. and abroad. They founded Kingdom House of Worship in 2013 and currently reside in both Los Angeles, CA, and St. Louis, MO.
Christina: What is your SwagHer? What makes Kai, Kai?
Kai: The truth is, without God, I would not fully know who I am. Most of us identify ourselves by what we do and find our value in our abilities. The beauty in placing our identity in the one who created us gives each of us the ability to see without activities; we are enough.Â
Christina: You and your husband plant home fellowships all over the world. Please explain to our readers what that is.Â
Kai: Kingdom House of Worship (KHOW GLOBAL) follows the pattern of The Acts Church (Acts w:42-47), where the early church (people not a building) met in homes and centered their lives around three aspects: study of the Word, prayer, and fellowship. As a Fellowship, we go into communities, plant a fellowship within a home, and set leaders in place to lead with weekly bible studies and weekly fellowships. We pray and go within The specific communities we are planted in to serve families and those in need through outreach.Â
Christina: Tell us a little bit about your albums, “Speechless” and “Unshakeable.”Â
Kai: I recorded “Speechless” in 2011 and Unshakeable in 2016. Speechless was a live recording, while “Unshakeable” was a studio recording. I wrote most songs on each album and did all vocals for “Unshakable.” Both are praise and worship albums with songs honoring God.Â
Christina: Tell our readers a little about your debut book, Dear Church-Vol I. Where can our readers purchase your book?Â
Kai: What began as an inner conversation with God quickly turned into real conversations with others seeking answers. While the climate of our world shifted and racial tension heightened, I wondered where the church was. I decided to write a letter. The letter was not like my journals
that always started with, Dear God. This time I would address the body I desperately desired to see transformed. Dear Church is not only a call to action but a heartfelt message every follower of Jesus Christ should read. It is available at www.dearchurchbook.com and Amazon.Â
Christina: You and your husband founded the House of Worship in 2013. Why did you decide to open up your own ministry? Did anything significant happen for you all to say, hey, we need to open a church?
Kai: Â Kingdom House of Worship Global (KHOW GLOBAL) was birthed in prayer as we were gathered with our family and friends at the beginning of 2009. God downloaded the vision to us, and we waited until He set the time for us to begin.Â
Christina: What is your favorite part of being in ministry?
Kai: Teaching the Word of God and watching people come into agreement with God’s Word and begin to live biblical lives rather than a personal preference. Serving others is my joy!Â
Christina: You are also a teacher. What do you teach, and why is teaching something you decided to pursue?
Kai: Â I am not a teacher by trade as one who teaches in a school. However, I went to Bible college to learn how to properly teach the Word of God because I believe, as a whole, the Global Church is under-educated when it comes to an understanding of the Bible. I love teaching.Â
Christina: If you had to pick three things to take with you on a deserted island, what would they be?
Kai: Â I will assume God is already there. I would take my husband, all my books and music.Â
Christina: Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like our readers to know about?
Kai: In April of 2020, I launched a six-month coaching program called “Chosen & Brave.” Initially, I only promoted to a handful of women and was surprised to have 34 women who join. We will be promoting to the public starting this December for our January sessions. A waiting list is available now on our site. I will also be releasing Dear Church Volume II in December of 2020. Finally, I will be launching a ministry consulting and church planting coaching program called Vision Management in 2021.Â
Christina: Is there anything else you would like to say?
Kai: Thank you for the opportunity to share and speak to your audience.
