She also hosts a weekly iHeart Radio and Spotify podcast “Your Resource for Successâ€. Kimberly is the founder of Author Kimberly M McLemore, LLC; Book Coaching and Self-Publishing Programs, is the co-founder of T.A.L.K. Radio & TV Network, LLP, and is a host and speaker on the monthly radio show called “The Author’s Corner†on VIGILANT Broadcasting. Kimberly authored three books: “How to Be a Success by Just Being Youâ€, “Memoir Deception of the Heart: A Real Look into Domestic Violence†and “Are You Living or Existing? Pro’s and Con’s of Balancing Lifeâ€. The “Memoir Deception of the Heart: A Real Look into Domestic Violence†truly highlights the understanding of domestic abuse. The book tugs at the heart and the mind, but gives women a perspective of what deception looks like through the eyes of the victim.
Kimberly’s goal is to teach women not be stagnated as “the survivor†but encourages the women to live their life to the fullest and not be apologetic for daring to be fearless. Meet the author and self-publishing trainer below.
Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Kimberly, Kimberly?
Kimberly: My swag is daring to be fearless. I have defined my own rules; “Do what makes me happy, do not live to conform to others and do not just survive but be your own Shero!â€
Fancy: You teach others how to move forward from trauma and tragedies, but how exactly did you move forward in your own life?
Kimberly: My story/tragedy of domestic abuse is unfortunately nothing new, but learning myself worth through God’s guidance is how I was able to move forward. Being abused mentally, physically, and emotionally every day for several years was the hardest thing I had ever encountered. I had to learn I was worth so much more than what was being defined for me. I knew I deserved to be here and God had a purpose for me. Once I understood who I was, I was able to rebuild the inner me and then work on the rest one day at a time, and I knew if I had not moved forward I would be stuck in the same place.

Fancy: What inspired you to share your story?
Kimberly: It took me one year to write my story, and the book sat on the shelf for six years. My son inspired me to share my story, and once I had the support of my family, I realized I no longer had to fear what I had been through, but it was time to share my story to help someone else.
Fancy: So did your platform begin with you publishing your first book? What did you do prior to being an author?
Kimberly: I wrote my first book 11 years ago, but prior to becoming a self-published author, I owned and operated two licensed child care centers and taught small business plan development workshops for 10 years back in my home town of Davenport, Iowa.
Fancy: How does one become certified to be a self-publishing trainer?
Kimberly: I do not believe in reinventing the wheel, but I do like putting my own spin on things. So I took the self-publishing course to understand the process of becoming a self-published author. After writing a couple of books, I decided I wanted to teach others how to become an author. My self-publishing certification came directly from the distributor of the materials that I use for training. In order to be qualified, I went through a lengthy training process to understanding all the steps it takes to becoming self-published, (the process, how to write, market and publish).
Fancy: Can you share two tips for aspiring authors who are struggling to get started?
Kimberly: I have met many aspiring authors, and the first they thing usually say is I want to be an author, but I don’t know what to do.
Tip #1: Just start writing what you are passionate about or what you want others to learn from you.
The next question I usually get is will people like what I have written?
Tip #2: Keep writing and believe in what you have to offer. There is always someone that will connect with your story.
Fancy: How would you describe your ideal client?
Kimberly: My ideal client is one who has passion, is hungry to learn, and willing to work hard at becoming an author every day.
Fancy: Are you currently working on a book project now? If so, would you care to share a little about it?
Kimberly: I will be working on a collaborative book this year with an amazing guy, my son. I’m going to keep you all in suspense with this book but I promise you will like it!
Fancy: Do you have any upcoming events or projects that you care to share?
Kimberly: I have a New E-Book Release Campaign going on.
