Author Spotlight: Londyn Lenz

Londyn Lenz is a 30-year old mother of two and author. She has loved books since she was a child, enjoying the likes of Dr. Seuss books, “The Babysitters Club” book set, R.L. Stein’s “Goosebumps” and “Sweet Valley High” book sets. Her reading advanced as she became older. Londyn got into urban-fiction when she was 16-years old and was introduced to author Zane. She became fascinated and indulged in Carl Weber, Wahida Clark, Noire, Eric Jerome Dickey and many others.

The young reader began writing at a young age with just the basic stories in her diaries and journals. In 2017, Londyn finally listened to her close family and decided to submit one of her stories to a publisher. One year and five months later, she is now a successful author with 17 published books.

“I don’t see myself doing anything else outside of writing and bringing my books to the screen,” she says.

Fancy: How would you describe your swagher? What makes Londyn, Londyn?

Londyn: What makes Londyn, Londyn is my heart. I speak from it, write from it, make judgments from it, while at the same time protecting it. My ability to make people smile and laugh even without knowing them. My desire to see everyone succeed in whatever they have set out to do…  Also, the fact that I am not afraid to make moves on my own is what makes Londyn, Londyn. I’m a natural loner so doing things alone, even if no one else will do them with me, has never stopped me.

Fancy: You have several titles under your belt. It almost looks like you drop a book per month. How is that possible?

Londyn: Yes, I absolutely do drop a book a month, and honestly, I have no idea how I do it, LOL!! I have two boys, ages 8 and 4, and I just spilt my time. I write 5,000 words per day, and I never over-work myself. I just have a desire to write and get my stories out there.

Fancy: So what’s the deal with you and bad boys? I noticed that running theme in your titles?

Londyn: I have always been a sucker for a bad boy, whether I have them as just friends or I’m romantically involved. I think some of them are misunderstood, and society just chooses to write them off. I’m not speaking for the ones who have taken innocent lives, but the ones who had a rough start and actually want to change.

Fancy: Are you dating someone or married?

Londyn: It’s complicated right now, LOL!

Fancy: Are any of your works inspired by real life events or relationships?

Londyn: Every book I have written has some of my real life in it, whether it be my characters, certain scenes, or the places in my books. “Giving My Heart To An Atlanta Street King” is about my recent relationship. Some things are fiction, but for the most part, it’s inspired by my love life.

Fancy: Are you open to doing any writing collaborations?

Londyn: That’s hard. I believe in order to do a writing collaboration with someone you must connect on more than just a literature level.

Fancy: So you have a publisher? What is that like, because most authors we work with are self-published?

Londyn: I love having a publisher. I know many say it’s best to keep all your money, but I am brand new to this. I didn’t know how writing would work out for me or fit into my schedule. I wanted to learn the business first, so I felt it was best to get a publisher. I needed to be taught the industry and learn the market, so a publisher can teach you that.

Fancy: I noticed you mentioned seeing your work on the screen. Are you thinking movies or shows?

Londyn: I would love to do a web-series, TV show, and movies. My dream is to have Tyler Perry direct my “Atlanta Street King…” book into a movie. I also want to turn my Royal franchise into a series. I imagine it coming on STARZ right after the TV show “Power”.

Fancy: Do you have any upcoming events or projects that you care to share?

Londyn: I am attending the 2019 Atlanta Kickback book event, and I have a Valentine’s day book special coming in February.
