Atlanta radio personality and community advocate Beasy Baybie is adding another milestone to her impressive career. The beloved Majic 107.5/97.5 host has been named the recipient of the 2026 Trailblazer Award at the inaugural Black Authors Festival @ATL, taking place September 12, 2026, at Norwood Vineyard & Gardens in Lake Spivey, GA.
Known for her authenticity, cultural influence, and commitment to uplifting her community, Beasy Baybie has built a reputation as more than a radio personality. Through years of connecting with audiences across Atlanta and beyond, she has become a trusted voice, using her platform to inform, inspire, entertain, and amplify stories that matter.
The Trailblazer Award honors individuals who have broken barriers, created opportunities for others, and left a lasting impact through leadership, innovation, and service. For festival organizers, Beasy Baybie embodies the spirit of the recognition through her dedication to community engagement and her ability to create meaningful connections through media.
“The mission behind the festival is both powerful and necessary, and I deeply appreciate the work your team is doing to promote Black literacy, protect our voices, and uplift our community,” Beasy Baybie shared. “It is also an honor to be mentioned alongside such an amazing group of honorees.”
Her recognition places her among an accomplished group of leaders and changemakers being celebrated during this year’s festival, including Rev. Dr. Jamal H. Bryant, faith leader and social justice advocate; Dr. Karri Turner Bryant, author and empowerment advocate; Doreen Spicer-Dannelly, acclaimed writer and producer of The Proud Family; Dr. Rashad Richey, Emmy-nominated broadcaster and political analyst; and Ebony Porter-Ike, founder of EPI Media Group and recipient of the Festival’s Author of the Year Award.
The 2026 festival theme, The Right To Write™, centers on literacy, intellectual freedom, storytelling, and the preservation of diverse voices. Organizers describe the event as more than a literary gathering. It is a celebration of culture, education, and the power of Black stories to inspire change.
The festival also supports community impact beyond the stage. A portion of proceeds will benefit A Father’s Love Personal Development and Community Services, a nonprofit founded by Maurice L. Williams, LMSW, MA. Williams, who once struggled with literacy as a justice-involved youth, taught himself to read while incarcerated and now dedicates his work to helping others transform their lives through education and personal development.
Recognized by USA Today as one of the nation’s top new festivals, the Black Authors Festival continues to expand its influence through programming, advocacy, and community engagement designed to celebrate Black voices and strengthen literacy across generations.
