Brands You Should Know from the N.O.

Through my platform LadiCEO, I display different products and services owned by women. I truly believe that as a woman, we have to stand as a sisterhood. I had the opportunity to check out two products owned by two female New Orleanians. NOLA Baby Body Butter and Lucky Lyn Cosmetics. I have a hard time finding a moisturizer that will give me desired results and that I don’t need to keep reapplying, NOLA Baby Body Butter, took care of that for me. I am always being complimented on my lippies, whether it is a gloss or a lip stick. I definitely do not want to be out and about reapplying either. You guessed it, Lucky Lyn, did the trick. Now, let me tell you a little about both and how you can get your hands on some.

NOLA Baby Body Butter

NOLA Baby Body Butter is owned and operated by Sharona Luke. She is originally from New Orleans, LA. Sharona, a licensed cosmetologist and co-owner of Creative Crowns in Charlotte, NC says the reason she started NOLA Baby Body Butter is because she believed in moisture and self care. Being in the hair care industry, she teaches her clients how to take care of their hair and scalp. She is always preaching hydration from the inside out. She decided she shouldn’t stop with just the top of their head, but she should also get her clients in tune with their whole body. Nola Baby Body Butter is a line of all-natural whipped Shea butter that come in the scents of Neutral Ground (unscented), Sundays at the Lake (Sandalwood and Lavender), Dat Tingle (Rosemary and Mint), Tchoup’d Fruit (Coconut and Rose),  and Snoball Season (Grapefruit and Vanilla). Each name is either a play off a New Orleans term or something that is naturally New Orleans.

I had the pleasure of testing samples of each scent. I have severe dry sensitive skin, so I am really mindful of the products I use on it. I started with Neutral Ground. I used it on my hands and face. My face gets dry and flaky right between my eyes. What I like best about this product is, you do not have to use much of it. I did not have any irritation, so I tried Dat Tingle. First let me say how much I love the smell. It was not overpowering and did not cause any irritation. I placed a small amount on my face on my trouble areas. Nola Baby Body Butter is a great choice in my book. Lucky Lyn Cosmetics

Lucky Lyn Cosmetics is owned and operated by Shay Leone. She is originally from New Orleans, LA. Shay initially thought she wanted to just sell products, but due to her passion for the beauty community, Lucky Lyn was birthed. Shay named her business after her grandmothers, which I thought was super special. You will have to visit her website to find out her reason why.

I had the pleasure of checking out her lip gloss line. Each lip gloss shade comes in shiny or matte. The lip gloss names are Mocha, Virgin and Stay in. Each shade is in the nude family. I love a good nude, and if you are a makeup wearer you know that all nudes are not created equal. What I love about the Lucky Lyn brand is that the lip gloss do not dry out my lips. It stays on even after drinking a beverage and the colors are so pretty. I truly hate having to reapply my lippie, ya know. I think my favorite is Shiny Mocha. Lucky Lyn does not only consist of lip gloss, but she has eye shadows as well. To find out more about Lucky Lyn products and to read the heartwarming story behind the brand name, visit her website.
