Becoming Spiritually Fit, Part One

What does it take to become “Spiritually Fit?” Well, in this series, let me introduce you to a few amazing people who can show you how!

Since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, life as we know it has definitely become a “little crazy”. Many people are looking for direction, one way or another, just to deal. Becoming spiritually fit has definitely been on the minds of many as the act of prayer has increased. No matter your religion, denomination, or spiritual affiliation, prayer was and still remains high on the agenda.

During this pandemic, many have used prayer as a coping mechanism, relieving stress. The reason to pray doesn’t matter. All that matters is that prayer is happening and the line of communication with God is becoming more vital for everyday life and living.

Meet Tamecca Goodwyn, the creator of Prayer Warrior Princess

What started out as just a nickname from friends, grew into a stellar brand name that is now reaching the masses. Prayer Warrior Princess emphasizes not just the importance of praying, but the fact that anyone can pray.

Prior to the pandemic, a lot of people thought only the older generation or the “super-spiritual” would pray. Through Goodwyn’s content on social media and her dynamic clothing brand, this powerhouse proved daily how anyone can and should pray.

Her latest initiative “Prayer Warrior Loading”, has birthed an entire line of products and a prayer journal designed to help anyone build and maintain a positive prayer life. The goal is to build a community encouraging and building confidence in prayer. This is an example of being “Spiritually Fit”.

Even though Tamecca is a millennial, she has found that her brand, Prayer Warrior Princess, has a reach that extends and breaks through generational barriers. The motivating entrepreneur credits her success to her relatable and God-inspiring content.

Set an alarm

Remember, life happens but setting an alarm will motivate a dedicated time to pray.

Pick a dedicated space

Selecting a dedicated space will help remove distractions and allow your prayer time to become a part of your routine.

Don’t Read your “Holy Book”

When you run out of words and don’t know what to say, pray the words of the Bible or your Holy Book.

Communicate Often to develop a Relationship

Just like any relationship, you must communicate. Without communication, a relationship will become strained. However, the more time spent and the more conversations you have, the relationship will develop and grow. This is the same with God.

Remember, prayer is “rated E” for everyone. The length of the prayer doesn’t matter but the sincerity of your words is what’s important.

“Spiritual growth is like learning to walk. We stand up, fall, stand up, fall, take a step, fall, take a couple of steps, fall, walk a little better, wobble a bit, fall, run, and finally, eventually fly.” – Geri Larkin
