These sisters are breaking the Prison to Pipeline concept!
The #MeToo and #TimesUp movements are not the only ways women are coming together and making a difference. Four Black women in Dallas, Texas, Judge Amber Givens-Davis, Judge Lisa Green, Judge Shequitta Kelly, and Judge Stephanie Mitchell have joined forced to start the Pipelines to Possibilities program to deter the pipeline to prison.
Pipeline to Possibilities is a program committed to educating youth on various aspects of the justice system and inspiring youth to become leaders in society.  According to Defender Network who first the put the spotlight on the organization, the organization’s classes include:
Introduction to the Criminal Justice System
 Presentation and Appearance
Students are taught life skills like how to tie ties and apply makeup, along with how to present themselves in public and on social media.
Changing Mindsets
Here students’ obstacles can be addressed and solutions are offered. Those who have found themselves in the criminal justice system also speak to the students.
College Explosion and Bridging Law Enforcement and Neighborhoods In Dallas.
“Students get to learn about different careers, colleges and entrepreneurships. These sessions kick off with a Greek step show. Students also get an opportunity discuss with law enforcement their concerns.  Topics include the rise in police shootings of unarmed men across the country and concerns law enforcement officers.†–Defender Network.
Speaking of Greek, the unique thing about these judges is they all are sorority sisters. Judge Amber Givens-Davis who presides over Dallas County’s 282nd Judicial District Felony Criminal Court; Judge Stephanie Mitchell who presides over Dallas County’s  291st Judicial District Felony Criminal Court; and Judge Lisa Green who presides over Dallas County’s Misdemeanor Criminal Court #5, all are members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Meanwhile Judge Shequitta Kelly who presides over Dallas County’s Misdemeanor Family Violence Criminal Court #11 is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
