Black Travel Summit 2020 is Approaching

According to the Mandala Research Firm, 17% of Black Americans take one or more international trips and travel locally more than six times per year and with 2020 being here, it only gets better.

42% of Black Americans say they will spend more on travel than last year, and 50% of Black adults (16% more than the general population) are more likely to travel to locations associated with their ethnic or cultural heritage this year. In 2018, it was reported that Black Americans spend $63 billion on travel. That number is expected to rise to $90 Billion in the next few years.

In light of the current social climate and the desires of African-Americans seeking opportunities to tell their stories and live a more global lifestyle, an organization was created to celebrate this growing movement. The Black Travel Summit is a conference, exhibition, and global network for travel industry professionals to exchange and generate ideas about collaborating and expanding the Black travel industry.

For its annual exhibition, entitled Movement, taking place from October 17th to the 18th, the Black Travel Summit will host a 2-day virtual gathering of the top tastemakers, influencers, hospitality industry leaders, and travel enthusiasts.

This year’s virtual experience is packed with performances, seminars, workshops, giveaways, fitness classes, and more. This year’s sponsors include Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Seychelles Tourism Board.

General tickets are free, but 500 VIP tickets come with a curated Black Travel Summit Gift Box containing samples from Black-owned beauty brands like Pure Khemia, Realm Concept Market, and BlackTravelBox®.

The VIP ticket also includes a lifetime membership to the Black Travel Summit Club (which gives VIP ticket holders discounts for future mini-events, partner offers, future member-exclusive events – both in-person and virtual, future members-only trips) and can be reserved here.

The Black Travel Summit is partnering with Dream Defenders, an organization that fights for racial and social justice and will donate a portion of the proceeds to the cause.

In 2021, should we have the ability to gather again, we are working towards an in-person exhibition and conference to be held in the heart of Miami, Florida.
