Born a Creator! Ki Williams Shares Insight on Being a Womanpreneur and a ‘Natural-Born’ Writer

Ki Williams is an author, creator, CEO, and woman of passion and excellence honing in her natural gifts and talents of writing and invoking creativity in such a way that invites and promotes others in the industry to excel. As someone who has been writing “since the crayon has been placed in her hand,” Ki Williams is a natural writer and was raised with great insights and expertise from her mother who was an English teacher. She is the author of a fiction book series featuring “I am My Sister’s Keeper” and the sequel recently released, “His Eyes Are Watching”

 

Patrice: What is your Swagher? What makes Kilene, Kilene?

Kilene: My loyalty to what and who I believe in makes me who I am. My SwagHer is finding joy in uplifting and motivating others to keep pursuing their dreams, which is why OVP was created.

Patrice: What is the name of your business and how did you get started?

Kilene:  My business is called ‘Ocean View Promotions & Bleeding Ink Creatives’

Patrice: When did you know you wanted to be a successful woman in business?

Kilene: I wasn’t always on the entrepreneurial path as I am now, but I have definitely always wanted to be successful in business.

Patrice: Have you faced any challenges as a business owner? If so, what solution (s) did you come up with?

Kilene: As a business owner challenges can be placed before us daily. In general, I rely on my faith and my personal circle of phenomenal souls when I need insight or to hear myself talk through what’s happening.

Patrice: How important is helping other women in business who may be struggling?

Kilene: It is extremely important to me. It brings joy to my soul to be a part of helping, encouraging, uplifting and motivating women to keep rising and working hard to make their dreams reality.

Patrice: What makes your business unique?

Kilene: The passion serving others and the loyalty and commitment I bring to the table when working on customer projects!

Patrice: There has been times where women didn’t get the proper recognition in the world whether it would be on Television, Speakers or even authors. Do you feel that has changed over the years in a powerful way?

Kilene: Although there is much room for growth, I definitely think women are getting more of the recognition they deserve now.

Patrice: What or who motivates you to keep going in life?

Kilene: My faith and my beautiful blessings, my daughter and son.

Patrice: Do you have a favorite quote or saying?

Patrice: What is next for you in your business journey? Do you have any new projects that you are working on?

Kilene: I am working on a new Blog Series that I will share with my followers in April. I also have a couple WIPs I’ve been working on and looking forward to publishing this year.

Patrice: How do you balance your career, personal life and work life all at the same time? Any special advice for other women entrepreneurs who are struggling?

Kilene: Taking care of your health and personal wellness is imperative. Know that it’s ok to ask for help, and surround yourself with beautiful souls that generally want to see you win.
