If you hadn’t heard the news that Instagram intends to focus more on video, then you are not keeping up with social media news, which I strongly suggest you do since social media is such a big part of our businesses and lives whether we like it or not. But if you hadn’t heard the news, yes, Instagram plans to evolve more into a video-sharing platform.
I cannot lie. Video is hard for an introvert like me, so adapting has been hard. I tend to get tongue-tied or lines escape my memory. However, I put my fears to the side and decided that neither SwagHer Magazine nor I would be left behind. I began to read everything that I could about reels to better understand them and how they work.
Then I discovered this freebie by Coach Evelyn Weiss. It’s called 50 Instagram Reel Ideas for Coaches but it’s for coaches and consultants. It comes with a reels training as well, but by the time I discovered it, I didn’t need the training. I just needed to know where to find the audio.
And that’s the cool thing about it. All of the original audio that I’ve seen other entrepreneurs using to market their business is already there. Now you do have to go through the spreadsheet, click on the links, listen, and find what might work for you but that is not too bad, because I even like to click on the other reels that have used the same audio and be inspired by what I see others create and tailor to match their brands.
I can’t share the file but you can check out @growwithevelyn on Instagram and learn more.
Evelyn has done the heaviest of lifting. Now the ball is in your court.
If you struggle with memorizing lines, I get it. I do too! Not to mention, I felt super silly pretending while making my first reel with the original audio. I have a slight speech impediment because I talk so fast so it was weird, but I got through it.
And you can too! My reels are not the best, but hey, at least I’ve started. I’ve put myself out there and that’s the important thing. Remember growth doesn’t come from comfort zones, so I am happy to get uncomfortable. But I am not here to scold you, just to remind you that must be willing to adapt to the times. It’s about to get real with the reels, and I want you all to be prepared.
