I was scrolling the ‘Gram, minding my business and looking for a quick laugh, when I stumbled across a comedy reel by @suburbbaby_. The comedian said something that wasn’t even meant to be profound, but it hit me in the gut like a word from the ancestors: “Chances make champions.”
Now, I know he wasn’t talking about business, but isn’t that how the real gems drop? Out of nowhere, in the most unexpected moments. That little quote lingered in my spirit, and I realized—he was right.
Chances DO make champions.
It’s giving no risk, no reward, faith without works is dead, and closed mouths don’t get fed all in one. In this entrepreneurial life, especially for us as Black women, chances aren’t just optional—they’re mandatory. Playing it safe might get you a seat in the room, but taking chances is what makes you own the building.
Whether it’s launching the business you’ve been dreaming about, finally pitching that brand collab, or applying for the funding you swore was out of reach—it’s the chance that separates the dreamers from the doers. And honestly, most of the wins I’ve secured weren’t because I had it all figured out. They happened because I said, “Why not me?” and leapt anyway.
So here’s your reminder from your favorite CEO: Stop waiting for perfection. Stop doubting the outcome. Take the chance. Because champions aren’t made from comfort zones—they’re made from bold moves, gritty faith, and a little sprinkle of delusion.
Stay risky. Stay radiant. Stay ready.
With love & strategy,
Fancy 💋
