Coming to America Sequel Reveals First Photos and Surprising Cast

The movie you all have been waiting for, and it’s officially happening for real this time! Coming to America sequel has set to sail at the beginning of March 2021 and coming to Amazon Prime on March 25, 2021. So all my primers, get ready to watch this sequel! It has been thirty years since the original movie Coming To America has been released in theaters back in 1988. The original cast will return with their actual roles; Eddie Murphy as Prince Akeem, Arsenio Hall as Semmi, James Earl Jones as King Jaffe Joffer, Shari Headley as Lisa McDowell, John Amos as Cleo McDowell, Paul Bates as Oha, Louie Anderson as Maurice and Vanessa Bell Calloway as Imani Izzi.

In the official synopsis, Prince Akeem is set to become the King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son name Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler) he never knew about. His father’s dying wish is for Prince Akeem to groom his son as the prince. He and Semmi both take another adventure to America once again. Other comedy veterans and stars to join the cast are Garcelle Beauvais, who originally played the rose bearer will be reprising her role. Commenters on Twitter stated that she should have been promoted to a different position. Do you agree with that, Swaggers? I think thirty years is a long time, and she should have at least gotten a better part. A new actress Nomzamo Mbatha joins the cast. She is also a businesswoman and activist. Tracy Morgan will also be joining the cast. He plays Reem, who is the brother of Leslie Jones’s character; Lavelle’s father figure. Yes, Leslie Jones will be joining as well, playing Lavelle’s mother, who had a one-night stand with Prince Akeem back in the day. Now, this is getting juicy, you guys! I’m ready to see this! Other surprising guests are Wesley Snipes, who will play General Izzi, the neighboring nation’s ruler to Zamunda, where Prince Akeem reigns.

“I do not doubt that this will become a film that people will love. I will venture to say they’ll love it more than the first…” says the veteran actress (Shari Headley). “I think I’m as excited as the audience will be because this is just nonstop entertainment.” Media source from Essence Magazine

Kiki Layne is playing Prince Akeem’s daughter, and some other people like Rick Ross, Luenell, Rotimi, Teyana Taylor, and Michael Blackson also join, according to Deadline. This is an excellent group of actors that will be apart of a legendary movie! Stay tuned to March 2021.
