Fancy: You call yourself a trailblazer in empowerment and beauty. What sparked your journey into entrepreneurship, and when did you first realize you were called to lead in this way?
Dr. Mo’Nick: My journey into entrepreneurship was ignited by my experience as a 15-year Lupus survivor. After overcoming so many challenges, I recognized a need for better support and advocacy for those facing chronic illnesses, which inspired me to launch the FIGHT4LUPUS organization.
I first felt my calling to lead when I witnessed the positive impact of our initiatives on individuals and families. This experience fueled my passion for empowering others through my beauty line and various platforms, demonstrating that true leadership is about inspiring growth and fostering community. Each step has deepened my commitment to making a difference and celebrating the resilience of women.

Fancy: Your beauty empire—from Sha’Nail Luminous Lip Gloss to the Richesse Luxury Collection—is both glamorous and intentional. What does beauty mean to you, and how do you infuse empowerment into every product you create?
Dr. Mo’Nick: To me, beauty is a celebration of individuality and self-expression, transcending mere appearances. It’s about embracing who you are and radiating confidence from within.
I infuse empowerment into every product by crafting them with intention. Each item is designed using gentle, vegan, and cruelty-free ingredients suitable for those with autoimmune diseases and sensitive skin. My goal is for every product to uplift and inspire, making individuals feel valued and beautiful. Through this commitment to authenticity and self-love, I aim to foster confidence and resilience, reminding everyone that true beauty shines when we embrace our unique selves.
Fancy: FIGHT4LUPUS is such a powerful piece of your story. Can you talk about the moment you decided to turn your personal battle into a platform for awareness and advocacy?
Dr. Mo’Nick: The moment I decided to turn my personal battle with lupus into a platform for awareness and advocacy was born out of a profound sense of purpose during a particularly dark time in my life. After being diagnosed with a rare form of lupus, I found myself hospitalized for three months, facing the harsh reality of losing my job as a Financial Counselor, my home, and nearly my sanity.
During this challenging period, I connected with others who were struggling with similar issues and realized how isolating and misunderstood chronic illnesses can be. It struck me that sharing my story could not only help me heal but also empower others facing their own battles.
That realization ignited my passion for advocacy and led to the creation of FIGHT4LUPUS. I wanted to raise awareness about lupus and provide support for those who feel alone in their struggles. By transforming my personal journey into a platform for change, I aimed to foster community, educate others, and advocate for better resources. It was a turning point that helped me find strength in vulnerability and purpose in my pain.
Fancy: How do you balance entrepreneurship, advocacy, and self-care while managing Lupus?
Dr. Mo’Nick: Balancing entrepreneurship, advocacy, and self-care while managing lupus is certainly a challenge, but I’ve learned that prioritizing my well-being is essential for sustaining my efforts. For me, prayer is a central focus that provides strength and clarity. It’s my way of grounding myself, seeking guidance, and finding peace amidst the chaos.
In addition to prayer, I make self-care a non-negotiable part of my routine. This includes listening to my body, setting boundaries, and allowing myself time to rest and recharge. I prioritize activities that nourish my mind and spirit, whether it’s meditation, gentle exercise, or simply enjoying quiet moments with loved ones.
I also delegate tasks in my entrepreneurial ventures and lean on my support network, which helps me manage my workload effectively without overextending myself. By integrating prayer and self-care into my daily life, I find the balance that enables me to continue my advocacy work while taking care of my health. It’s all about creating a sustainable rhythm that honors both my ambitions and my well-being.
Fancy: You’ve built multiple brands across beauty, publishing, TV, and women’s empowerment. What drives you to expand into so many lanes, and how do you decide when it’s time to launch a new vision?
Dr. Mo’Nick: What drives me to expand into multiple lanes—beauty, publishing, TV, and women’s empowerment—is my passion for creating positive impact and fostering community. Each avenue allows me to reach and uplift diverse audiences, empowering them to embrace their unique journeys.
When deciding to launch a new vision, I rely on prayer and listening to the Lord for guidance. I view these ventures as divinely inspired opportunities to serve others. I also stay attuned to the needs of the community; when I see gaps or hear calls for support, it ignites my desire to create solutions. This blend of spiritual guidance and responsiveness shapes my decisions and propels me forward, allowing me to create a legacy of empowerment across various platforms.
Fancy: Kingdom Minded Publishing has helped birth many powerful stories. What inspired you to create a publishing house dedicated to transformation and faith-driven success?
Dr. Mo’Nick: The inspiration behind Kingdom Minded Publishing came from my desire to amplify voices that reflect transformation and faith-driven success. After my own journey through adversity, I recognized the healing power of storytelling and wanted to create a platform for others to share their transformative experiences.
Many individuals have powerful narratives that can uplift and inspire, and I aimed to provide a space for those stories to be told. Kingdom Minded Publishing is about fostering a community where transformation is celebrated and faith guides success. Each story we publish is a testament to the strength of the holy spirit and the transformative impact of faith.

Fancy: Your platforms—Women Worship Wednesday and the Sister 2 Sister Podcast—hold space for women in such meaningful ways. What conversations are you most passionate about amplifying right now?
Dr. Mo’Nick: I am passionate about amplifying conversations around self-empowerment, healing, and resilience, particularly in the context of women’s unique challenges. Through Women Worship Wednesday and the Sister 2 Sister Podcast, I aim to create a safe space for open dialogue about mental health, self-care, and the importance of supporting one another.
I also want to highlight women in leadership and entrepreneurship, sharing their experiences to inspire future generations. By focusing on these topics, we can foster a community of empowerment and growth that uplifts all women.
Fancy: The Elite Business Women Association includes everything from a magazine to an awards show to business funding. What gap did you see in the entrepreneurial space that motivated you to build this ecosystem for women?
Dr. Mo’Nick: I saw a significant gap in support and resources specifically tailored for women entrepreneurs. Many women face unique challenges in the business world, from access to funding to mentorship opportunities. The Elite Business Women Association was born out of the need for a comprehensive ecosystem that not only celebrates women’s achievements but also provides the essential tools and connections for success.
I wanted to create a platform where women could find inspiration, resources, and support all in one place. The magazine serves as a space to share stories and insights, while the awards show recognizes outstanding achievements and fosters community. Additionally, the business funding initiative addresses the critical need for financial support, empowering women to turn their visions into reality. By building this ecosystem, I aim to uplift and empower women entrepreneurs, helping them thrive in their journeys.
Fancy: You’ve received numerous awards and recognitions, from ACHI Magazine to the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Which honor has meant the most to you, and why?
Dr. Mo’Nick: While I value all the awards I’ve received, the Honorary Doctorate and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award particularly resonate with me as they signify that I am accomplishing my mission. These honors not only validate my dedication to advocacy and empowerment but also highlight the impact my work has on the lives of others.
Receiving these accolades reinforces my belief in the transformative power of education and community service. They motivate me to continue striving for positive change and inspire others to embrace their journeys. Knowing that my efforts are recognized in such meaningful ways fuels my passion to empower women and create lasting impact in our communities.
Fancy: With so many women looking to you for guidance, what is one piece of advice you give to entrepreneurs who are rebuilding after setbacks or starting fresh?
Dr. Mo’Nick: One crucial piece of advice I give to entrepreneurs rebuilding after setbacks or starting fresh is to embrace resilience and stay true to your vision. Setbacks are often stepping stones to growth, and it’s important to view them as opportunities to learn and evolve rather than as failures.
Stay connected to your purpose and passion; this will serve as your guiding light during challenging times. Surround yourself with a supportive network, seek mentorship, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when needed. Remember, every successful entrepreneur has faced obstacles, and it’s your ability to rise, adapt, and keep moving forward that will ultimately define your journey. Trust in yourself and your vision, and keep pushing forward. Success is often just around the corner.

Fancy: As you think about the next phase of your journey, what are you currently preparing for or excited to expand within your brand?
Dr. Mo’Nick: As I think about the next phase of my journey, I’m excited to expand the Elite Business Women Association by creating more comprehensive mentorship and networking programs for women entrepreneurs.
I also plan to enhance the global awareness efforts of FIGHT4LUPUS, developing campaigns that educate the public about lupus and foster a supportive community for those affected. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and leveraging social media will help amplify the voices of lupus warriors worldwide.
Additionally, I’m eager to launch new initiatives within Kingdom Minded Publishing that spotlight diverse stories and foster connections among women. I’m also looking to expand Richesse Cosmetics & Accessories, aiming to store and distribute our products in different countries to reach a broader audience.
Overall, my goal is to empower women, raise awareness for lupus, and inspire future generations to pursue their dreams with confidence.
