From Aggressor to Victim: Bow Wow Has Tables Turned On Him

Rapper Bow Wow and his girlfriend Kiyomi Leslie Holden were involved in a domestic dispute after a party in Atlanta on Feb 2nd. The rapper and his girlfriend accused each other of committing assault. Police were unable to determine who acted as the primary aggressor of the physical altercation and as a result, Bow Wow and Holden were arrested. Both Bow Wow, whose given name is Shad Moss, and Kiyomi Leslie Holden were booked at the Fulton County Jail.

Public opinion began to weigh in the moment Moss and Holden’s booking photos were released. As you view the photos side by side, the alarming contrast is the fact that the rapper’s face is all scratched up while the girlfriend’s face appears to be untouched. Social media went wild as both men and women made jokes and memes about Moss getting beat up by his girlfriend. Not everyone saw the humor in the situation as some people came to Bow Wow’s defense. Many women applauded Moss for showing self control by not retaliating and hitting a woman. The men who defended the rapper highlighted the fact that when a man is the victim of domestic abuse he will feel ashamed and embarrassed to admit it; due to the fact that the public will see him as a joke.

The topic became a point of discussion as many radio programs dedicated a segment to talk about the situation. Shad Moss transitioned from being labeled a joke, to being labeled a man of courage. He was applauded for taking punishment from a female and not responding in a physical manner. Both men and women showed admiration for the rapper. Some reports came out stating during the altercation Moss was scratched, spat on, and bitten. Through it all, Bow Wow somehow found the strength to maintain his composure.  

Shad Moss’s new label of being a man of courage was short lived, as video surveillance was publicly released. The video shows Bow Wow looking more like an aggressor as opposed to a victim. As Shad Moss appears irritated standing inside the elevator, Kiyomi Leslie Holden, and two other men join him on the elevator. As Holden attempts to press a button, Moss aggressively grabs at her hand multiple times. He’s attempting to take something out of her possession. While yelling and pacing inside the elevator, the rapper is in the process of taking his jacket off and simultaneously yelling at Holden. He instantly steps toward Holden and shouts in her face. While in her face, it appears Moss is shouting the word “what”! As he steps back, Bow Wow continues to yell at his girlfriend. The elevator doors open as the elevator ride ends, but the shouting continues as Moss is seen exiting the elevator and yelling at Holden.

It’s unclear of what actually happened after the elevator ride, but if anything, the surveillance footage clearly shows Shad Moss wasn’t a victim.
