SwagHer Magazine recently sat down with Sheen Magazine to spotlight the brand’s upcoming events, contributions to the entertainment industry, and its overall mission.
Kristyn Harris, Editor-in-Chief of Sheen Magazine, shared the history of the publication, explaining that Mrs. Kimberly Chapman of South Carolina founded Sheen. Mrs. Chapman is also the co-founder of Chapman Products Company, which she runs alongside her husband, William P. Chapman II. The company provides state-of-the-art haircare and beauty products that serve as an extension of Sheen’s commitment to beauty and lifestyle.
Mrs. Chapman was inspired to launch Sheen Magazine as an advertising vehicle similar to Ebony and Essence. More than 20 years later, Sheen Magazine continues to thrive, offering both print and digital publications that feature fashion tips, artist spotlights, cultural commentary, and more.
The magazine’s motto emphasizes: “Everyone is a celebrity. Everyone deserves to be spotlighted. Everyone has a story that can inspire.”
Looking ahead, Harris discussed the highly anticipated Sheen Magazine Awards, set to take place on September 25, 2025, at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
This year’s theme, “The Year of the Writer,” will honor multi-media journalists within the brand, celebrate cultural trendsetters, and spotlight leaders who are amplifying Black voices, driving change, and redefining success in entertainment, fashion, and business.
