Fun Ideas For a “Spooktacular” Halloween

It’s Halloween! I wanted to take the time to share with you a few of my favorite fun ideas for a spooktacular holiday! Since the pandemic, we have all been met with the challenge of finding new and inventive ways to celebrate our favorite festive occasions. So, while there may be only a few Trick-or-treaters, let’s still enjoy spending time with family, friends, and even co-workers.

Decorating Party

One of my favorite things to do during this season is to invite my friends and family to my house for a Decorating Party! What a way to be creative, party, and have a great time! Sometimes, I like to go all out and have teams decorate different rooms in the house and compete for money! Yes, money! This encourages friends and family to actually participate! Whenever you have a decorating party, remember you must have food and drinks! The more festive, the better! Here are a few food ideas that may put your guests in the Halloween mood!

  • Pumpkin Spiced Latte
  • Pumpkin Spiced Coffee
  • Chocolate Candy Bags
  • Spider Cupcakes
  • Mummy Calzones

Halloween Carving Party

Another great idea is to invite people over to carve pumpkins! Again, don’t forget the food and drink and tell everyone to bring their own pumpkin! The best pumpkin wins a prize (money or a nice gift). Take pictures and post them on IG! This is also a great idea for friends and family who have children. The whole family can participate!

Halloween Movie Night – ScareFest!

Who doesn’t like scary movies? Well, I know I do! This is a simple way to have a party that is safe, fun, and guess what? If they fall asleep, turn it into a slumber party! Create a list of scary movies and have everyone choose their top three. Tally up the numbers and have a Scare Fest! You can also do this with Netflix, Prime, or Hulu favorites and have a Binge Fest! Don’t forget the popcorn, candy, pizza, and blankets! Everyone can come dressed up or in PJ’s! Make it fun and relaxing!

Here are few of my favorite “scary” movies:

  1. Beetlejuice
  2. Hocus Pocus
  3. Sleepy Hollow
  4. Spookley the square pumpkin
  5. The Silence of the Lambs
  6. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
  7. Halloween 1-12
  8. Friday the 13th 1-12
  9. Nightmare on Elm Street 1-7
  10. Candyman 1-3
  11. Underworld 1-4

My Favorite Binge-Watching T.V Shows:

  1. Bates Motel
  2. Vampire Diaries
  3. The Haunting of Hill House
  4. American Horror Story
  5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  6. Angel
  7. Supernatural

Here are a few Halloween inspired tunes for any party:

  1. Thriller
  2. Somebody’s Watching Me
  3. Werewolves of London
  4. Psycho Killer
  5. Superstition
  6. Zombie
  7. Disturbia
  8. Ghostbusters
  9. Hungry Like the Wolf
  10. Happy Halloween
