Fury’s Boxing Skills and Kronk Style Prove To Be Winning Combination

In the most anticipated rematch in recent boxing history, Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury changed the landscape of boxing as he scored a convincing TKO victory over Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder. With the victory, Fury won the WBC title belt, and he solidified his position as the No.1 heavyweight in the world. Fourteen months ago Wilder and Fury met in the ring for the first time. It was the clash of the unbeaten as two of the top heavyweights in the world were set to square off. The match was advertised as a classic match-up between Fury the boxer, and Wilder the puncher. The boxer executed to perfection as he used his jab, faints, and combination-punching to control the tempo and win round after round. Despite dropping multiple rounds, Wilder was able to stay in the fight because of two big moments. The first one came in round 9 when Wilder used his powerful overhand right to knock down Fury. He would later send Fury to the canvas a second time in the 12th round when he landed a right-left combination. Fury showed the heart of a champion as he was able to get up and go the distance. The end result of the first fight was a split decision draw.

After a thrilling first fight, the second fight was in high demand. Deontay Wilder entered the second fight with the same menacing punching power. Tyson Fury came into the second bout with his same boxing skills, but a new addition to his corner. Fury added a new trainer as he partnered up with Kronk Gym’s Javan “Sugar Hill” Steward. Sugar Hill is the nephew of Hall of Fame trainer Emmanuel Steward. Sugar Hill helped Fury adapt to the Kronk style. With Fury’s boxing skills and the Kronk style, Fury felt confident he would win the rematch

Saturday night February 22nd at the Las Vegas MGM Grand, the wait was over. The two titans were ready to battle for a second time. Wilder was able to land big right hands in round one and two, but outside of that he did little to win either round. The third round delivered the same result as Fury used his jab and stayed on the attack. His plan was to bully the bully, and he did it to perfection. He used a left-right combination to knock Wilder down. Wilder was able to get up and continue fighting. In round five, Fury continued his calculated attack as he hit Wilder with a body shot that sent Wilder to the canvas for the second time in the fight. In round seven Wilder looked to be in bad shape. He had a busted lip, excessive swelling of the jaw, and blood streaming out of his left ear. With a wounded man in front of him, Tyson Fury continued to be aggressive. He overwhelmed The Bronze Bomber as Wilder’s corner threw in the towel to stop the fight.

The Gypsy King’s dominant performance elevated him to the top of the rankings. He is now recognized as the No.1 heavyweight in the world. As for Deontay Wilder, Saturday night came as a humbling experience. During his past few fights, the lack of boxing skills was obvious, but he always had the devastating right hand to bail him out. He also had the bullying and intimidation factor. On Saturday night these tactics proved to be non-existent. The boxing world is about to see what Deontay Wilder is made of. In past history when a boxer who is intimidating and has a powerful punch loses a match, he’s never the same. We will have to wait and see if this loss has a lasting effect on Deontay Wilder.

As for Tyson Fury, he is currently at the top of the food chain. Saturday night he showed the world that he is the best heavyweight in the business. With his boxing skills and the Kronk style, Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury may reign supreme for a very long time.
