Chernika Corbett knows what it feels like to lose yourself while pouring into everyone else. Through faith, reflection, and intentional healing, the founder of SOUL-FULL Vibes transformed her personal journey into a purpose-driven wellness brand centered on emotional wellness, self-care, and restoration.

In this conversation with SwagHer Magazine, Chernika Corbett opens up about rebuilding her identity through prayer, affirmations, journaling, and creating peaceful environments that nurtured healing from the inside out. She shares how motherhood, working in intervention spaces, and navigating life between Boston and Los Angeles shaped her perspective on visibility, wellness, and purpose. Let’s get into it below.

Fancy: Chernika, SOUL-FULL Vibes is rooted in healing from the inside out. What inspired you to turn your personal healing journey into a purpose-driven brand?

Chernika: My inspiration for creating SOUL-FULL Vibes came from a deeply personal season in my life, where I realized I had been pouring so much into others that I was leaving myself behind. I found myself in what felt like a dead-end relationship, and over time, I began losing parts of who I was—my identity, my confidence, and my sense of self. I know there are so many others who have experienced similar situations, where you give and give until you barely recognize yourself anymore. That realization became a turning point for me.

My journey back to myself didn’t happen overnight. It started with faith, prayer, and the support of an amazing spiritual sister, Keya, who played a huge role in helping me find my strength again. Through prayer and leaning on God, I began to rebuild myself from the inside out. I also found healing through journaling, speaking affirmations, and creating peaceful moments that allowed me to reconnect with who I truly was. Those small but intentional steps helped me rediscover my voice, my worth, and my purpose.

As I continued healing, I realized that the tools and practices that helped me—prayer, reflection, affirmations, and creating calming spaces—could help others too. That’s when SOUL-FULL Vibes became more than just an idea; it became my mission. I wanted to create a purpose-driven brand that reminds people, especially women, that healing is possible, identity can be restored, and self-care is not selfish—it’s necessary. SOUL-FULL Vibes represents my journey of finding myself again and helping others create meaningful moments of peace, healing, and renewal so they can truly Vibe Soul-Fully and Live Fully.

Fancy: Your work blends natural products, affirmation tools, and guided journals. How did you discover that holistic wellness would become your lane?

Chernika: Honestly, holistic wellness became my lane because it was what helped save me and bring me back to myself. During my healing journey, I realized that I needed more than just one thing to feel whole again—I needed healing in my mind, my spirit, and my environment. Prayer was my foundation, and through my relationship with God, I began to find strength and clarity. At the same time, journaling allowed me to release my thoughts, reflect on my emotions, and truly understand what I was feeling. Affirmations helped me rebuild my confidence and speak life back into myself during moments when I felt lost.

I also discovered the importance of creating peaceful environments. Lighting a candle, slowing down, and setting intentional moments gave me space to breathe and reconnect with who I was becoming. Those small but powerful practices showed me that healing isn’t just physical or emotional—it’s holistic. It touches every part of you.

As I continued on my journey, I realized that many people were searching for the same sense of peace and balance that I had been searching for. That’s when it became clear that holistic wellness wasn’t just something that worked for me—it was something I was called to share. SOUL-FULL Vibes blends natural products, affirmation tools, and guided journals because those were the very tools that helped me heal. I didn’t choose holistic wellness as a trend—it became my lane because it was the path that helped me rediscover my peace, my purpose, and my identity.

Fancy: You’ve supported individuals experiencing homelessness and worked in intervention spaces. How did those experiences shape the heart behind SOUL-FULL Vibes?

Chernika: Working in spaces that support individuals experiencing homelessness and crisis intervention shaped my heart in ways I will carry with me for the rest of my life. In those roles, I saw people at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives—people who were tired, overwhelmed, hurting, and often forgotten. Many of them weren’t just lacking housing; they were lacking peace, stability, and a sense of being seen and valued.

That work taught me compassion on a deeper level. It showed me how important it is to meet people where they are, without judgment, and to understand that healing looks different for everyone. I also learned that many people are silently carrying trauma, stress, and emotional burdens, even when they appear strong on the outside. Being in those environments made me realize that wellness isn’t just a luxury—it’s something people truly need to survive and rebuild their lives. Those experiences directly shaped the heart behind SOUL-FULL Vibes. I didn’t want to create a brand that was only about products—I wanted to create something that felt like support, encouragement, and restoration. My work in intervention spaces reminded me that small moments of peace can make a big difference, whether it’s lighting a candle, speaking an affirmation, or taking time to reflect through journaling. SOUL-FULL Vibes was built with the understanding that everyone deserves moments of calm, dignity, and healing, no matter what season of life they’re in.

At its core, my professional journey taught me that healing and self-care should be accessible, meaningful, and rooted in compassion. That same compassion is what continues to guide the mission of SOUL-FULL Vibes—to help people reclaim their peace, restore their sense of self, and remember that they are worthy of care and healing.

The Work Behind the Vision

Fancy: From all-natural candles to affirmation tools for children, your brand spans multiple audiences. How do you intentionally design products that speak to emotional wellness across generations?

Chernika: Designing products for everyone is very intentional for me because healing and emotional wellness don’t belong to just one age group or gender—it’s something every generation deserves access to. I’ve learned through both my personal journey and my professional work that emotional wellness often starts with the environment and the messages we give ourselves, and that applies whether you’re a child learning confidence, a man carrying silent stress, or a woman trying to rediscover herself.

When I create products for SOUL-FULL Vibes, I think about real-life experiences across generations. For children, that may look like simple, encouraging affirmations that build confidence and self-worth early in life. For adults, it may be candles that create calming spaces after long, stressful days, or journals that give them a safe place to release their thoughts and reflect. For men, I’m intentional about designing products that feel welcoming and supportive, recognizing that many men are taught to suppress emotions rather than express them.

I also design with simplicity and intention in mind—using natural ingredients, calming scents, and meaningful words that feel relatable across different life stages. My goal is to create tools that encourage families, individuals, and communities to prioritize peace together, not separately.

At the heart of SOUL-FULL Vibes is the belief that emotional wellness can be passed down from one generation to the next. When we give people tools to care for themselves, whether through affirmations, journaling, or creating peaceful moments—we’re not just helping one person, we’re helping shape healthier families and stronger communities for the future.

Fancy: As a mother and entrepreneur, what does self-love look like in real time — not the Instagram version, but the honest version?

Chernika: Self-love in real time, for me, looks like choosing authenticity over appearance. It’s not always pretty, perfectly planned, or Instagram-ready. As a mother and entrepreneur, self-love sometimes looks like taking a moment to breathe when life feels overwhelming, setting boundaries, and reminding myself that I can’t pour into everyone else if I’m running on empty. It’s learning to give myself grace on the days when everything doesn’t go as planned.

One thing I always say is, “Baby, I can’t be no one other than me.” I don’t change who I am for Instagram or social media—I show up as my whole authentic self. I don’t feel the need to share everything unless I feel truly compelled to, because protecting my peace matters. Social media can sometimes be more critical and judgmental than supportive, and I’ve learned that self-love also means guarding my energy and not allowing outside opinions to define who I am.

The honest version of self-love is waking up every day and choosing yourself, even when it’s hard. It’s praying, staying grounded, caring for my family, running my business, and still making time to check in with my own heart. It’s being real about the challenges while still believing in growth. For me, self-love isn’t about perfection—it’s about being authentic, protecting my peace, and showing up as the woman and mother I was created to be

Fancy: What has been the most powerful testimony or moment where you realized SOUL-FULL Vibes was bigger than just a business?

Chernika: Wow… this is not an easy question for me because it makes me reflect on very personal and emotional moments. I think the most powerful realization that SOUL-FULL Vibes was bigger than just a business came when I began to see how my journey—and the tools that helped me heal—started to resonate with other people. When someone shares that your story, your words, or something you created gave them a moment of peace or helped them feel seen, it hits differently. That’s when you realize it’s not just about products, it’s about impact.

There have been moments where people connected with my story of healing, prayer, rediscovering myself, and learning to pour back into me after losing parts of my identity. Hearing others say, “I went through something similar,” or “I needed this reminder,” made me realize that SOUL-FULL Vibes wasn’t just born from my healing—it was meant to support the healing of others too. That’s when it became clear that this brand carries purpose, not just passion.

For me, the biggest testimony isn’t always one single moment—it’s the ongoing confirmation that God placed this vision on my heart for a reason. Every time someone finds comfort in an affirmation, peace in a quiet moment, or strength in choosing themselves again, it reminds me that SOUL-FULL Vibes is bigger than a business. It’s a ministry of healing, encouragement, and restoration, and that realization continues to humble me every day.

Community, Healing & Impact

Fancy: Originally from Boston and now based in Los Angeles, how has navigating different cities and communities influenced your perspective on healing and visibility?

Chernika: Being originally from Boston and now living in Los Angeles has expanded my understanding of healing in ways I never imagined. Each city carries its own rhythm, its own struggles, and its own sense of community. Growing up in Boston shaped my foundation—my strength, my work ethic, and my sense of resilience. Moving to Los Angeles opened my eyes to the depth of need in many communities and allowed me to serve people from diverse backgrounds, especially through my work supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and those navigating crisis and intervention spaces.

Navigating different cities taught me that healing looks different depending on where you are and what you’ve experienced, but the need for peace, dignity, and restoration is universal. In Los Angeles, I’ve witnessed firsthand how visibility matters—how being seen, heard, and supported can make a difference in someone’s ability to rebuild their life. That experience strengthened my belief that healing isn’t something that should be hidden or silenced; it’s something that deserves to be acknowledged and nurtured within communities.

Personally, moving between cities also required me to find my own sense of grounding and identity in unfamiliar spaces. It pushed me to lean deeper into prayer, self-reflection, and community connections. That journey helped me understand the power of visibility—not just being seen, but being willing to share parts of your story so others know they’re not alone.

Those experiences continue to shape SOUL-FULL Vibes, because the brand is rooted in the belief that healing is both personal and communal. Whether in Boston, Los Angeles, or anywhere else, I’ve learned that when people feel supported and visible, healing becomes possible, and communities become stronger.

Fancy: You speak often about empowering women and mothers. Why do you believe emotional wellness is revolutionary, especially for women?

Chernika: I believe emotional wellness is revolutionary for women because, for so long, many of us have been taught to carry everything for everyone else while putting ourselves last. Women, especially mothers, are often expected to be strong, nurturing, and dependable, even when we’re overwhelmed, tired, or silently struggling. That cycle can cause women to lose parts of themselves without even realizing it. I know that feeling personally—pouring into others while slowly leaving myself behind.

Emotional wellness becomes revolutionary when a woman decides to choose herself again. It’s powerful when she gives herself permission to heal, to set boundaries, to rest, and to rediscover her identity outside of what others expect from her. When a woman heals emotionally, it doesn’t just change her life—it changes her household, her children, and her community. Children learn by watching, and when they see a mother caring for her own well-being, they learn that self-worth and balance matter.

For me, empowering women and mothers is about reminding them that healing is not weakness—it’s strength. It’s revolutionary because it breaks cycles of burnout, silence, and self-neglect that have existed for generations. Through SOUL-FULL Vibes, I want women to feel supported in creating intentional moments of peace—through prayer, reflection, self-care, and honest conversations about what it really takes to feel whole again.

At the end of the day, emotional wellness is revolutionary because when women heal, families grow stronger, communities become healthier, and future generations benefit from that healing.

Visibility & Leadership

Fancy: As a Visibility Vault Visionary, how has showing up publicly shifted your confidence, clarity, or calling?

Chernika: Becoming a Visibility Vault Visionary has truly stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, but in the best way. Showing up publicly wasn’t always easy for me. I’m naturally someone who values peace and privacy, so stepping into visibility required me to push past fear, doubt, and the worry about how people might judge or misunderstand me. But through that process, I’ve learned that visibility isn’t about performance, it’s about purpose.

Showing up publicly has strengthened my confidence because it has forced me to trust my voice and believe that my story matters. Every time I share a piece of my journey—whether it’s about healing, faith, motherhood, or building SOUL-FULL Vibes—it reminds me that there are people who need to hear it. That realization gave me clarity about my calling. I began to understand that this isn’t just about building a brand; it’s about stepping into leadership and using my experiences to help others feel seen, supported, and encouraged.

This experience has taught me how to stand firm in who I am without feeling pressured to change for approval. I’ve learned that I don’t have to show everything to be visible—I can still protect my peace while showing up with intention. That balance has been one of the biggest shifts for me.

As a Visibility Vault Visionary, I now see visibility as part of my assignment. It’s not about being perfect or having all the answers, but about being willing to show up authentically so others can see what healing, growth, and purpose look like in real life. Through that journey, my confidence has grown, my clarity has sharpened, and my calling feels more defined than ever.

Fancy: What does “visibility” mean to you as a holistic wellness founder — and how do you protect your peace while growing your platform?

Chernika: Visibility, for me, means showing up with intention and authenticity, not performance. As a holistic wellness founder, visibility isn’t about being seen everywhere or sharing every detail of my life—it’s about being present in a way that reflects truth, healing, and purpose. It means allowing people to see what growth, faith, and self-care look like in real time, without pretending to be perfect.

I’ve learned that visibility doesn’t require me to change who I am. I always say, I can’t be anyone other than me. I don’t shift my identity to fit social media expectations, and I don’t share just to keep up with trends. I share when I feel compelled to share—when there’s meaning behind it—because protecting my peace is just as important as building my platform. Social media can sometimes feel more critical and judgmental than supportive, so I’ve had to learn how to guard my energy and not allow outside noise to define my worth or direction.

Protecting my peace looks like setting boundaries, staying grounded in prayer, and remembering that my purpose is bigger than popularity. It means creating quiet moments for myself, disconnecting when needed, and making sure my wellness comes before visibility. As SOUL-FULL Vibes continues to grow, I want my platform to reflect balance—not burnout—so that what I share comes from a place of wholeness, not pressure.

To me, visibility is about being seen without losing yourself. It’s about growing with purpose, protecting your peace, and staying rooted in who you were created to be.

Fancy: If you could give one affirmation to women building brands while healing in real time, what would it be?

Chernika: You are allowed to build, heal, and become at the same time. Give yourself grace while you grow, trust your journey, and remember that healing is not a delay to your success—it’s part of your strength.

For the Visionaries Watching

Fancy: For women who know they are called to create something but are still battling fear or self-doubt — what practical first step would you encourage them to take this week?

Chernika: The first practical step I would encourage them to take this week is to write the vision down. Take time to sit in a quiet space, pray, reflect, and be honestPromotional poster for a self-care event featuring speaker Chernika Corbett; date May 6, 2026, 6:00 PM EST, at Visibility Vault for Black Businesswomen. about what’s been placed on your heart. When you put your thoughts on paper, it makes the vision feel real instead of just something living in your mind. That one step alone can shift fear into focus.

I would also encourage them to take one small action, nothing overwhelming, just one step that moves them forward. That could be researching an idea, creating a name, writing a mission statement, or sharing the vision with someone they trust. Fear often grows when we stay still, but confidence grows when we take action, even if it’s small.

Most importantly, give yourself grace. Self-doubt is normal, especially when you’re building something meaningful while still healing. I’ve learned that courage doesn’t mean you’re not afraid, it means you move forward anyway, trusting that what’s meant for you will unfold in time.

You don’t have to do everything this week, just do one intentional step that honors the vision you’ve been given. That’s how purpose begins to move from your heart into reality.
