Time is winding down for the Finding Miss Ashley Stewart 2018 tour. This is the second year the Ashley Stewart team has traveled the country in search of a woman who effortlessly personifies the Ashley Stewart plus-size clothing brand and everything it stands for: kindness, resilience, confidence, community, and fashion. The star-studded finale event will take place this evening in Brooklyn, NY at King’s Theatre. Dive in below to learn more about how the tour has been so far, what to expect this weekend, and more in our Q&A with Ashley Stewart’s Marketing Specialist and Style Expert Tamara Ivey.
Fancy: How has the Finding Ashley Stewart Tour been going?
Tamara: The #FindingAshleyStewart tour was unbelievable! We met so many amazing women of all ages, ethnicities and faiths in each of the cities we’ve visited.  We have heard so many touching stories which have really made the tour memorable. Many women drove with their friends for hours to be with us – some to enter our search and others just to support their friends.
Fancy: What can we expect for the star-studded Finding Ashley Stewart Finale event? ÂÂ
Tamara: It’s going to be an amazing night! The Finale is hosted by Comedian Loni Love with performances by MC Lyte, SWV, Naughty By Nature and sounds provided by DJ Kid Capri! We will be awarding well north of $100K of scholarships and donations to causes important to our customers. We discovered our scholarship recipients during the #AshleyCollegeTour, where our CEO teaches the students important lessons in building wealth, goodwill and happiness. We are also honoring two high school students from Mott Hall Bridges Academy. We also have our fabulous contestants competing for a chance to win the title of “Ashley Stewart 2018â€Â, celebrity and influencer judges come from diverse industries, sponsored prizes and much more! We’ll have special appearances by Soledad O’Brian and LaLa Anthony!  Additionally, our Pink Carpet will be streamed live and hosted by actor Rob Riley and the Editor-in-Chief of PLUS Model Magazine, Maddy Jones! The event is going to be sold out. We will have close to 3,500 people packing the theater to celebrate every facet of our customers’ lives.ÂÂ
Fancy: Can you share a little about the Ashley Stewart scholarship along with the requirements and how women can apply?
Tamara: The scholarship program is all about investing in people. It is also the core of Ashley Stewart’s entire business model which was explained phenomenally in the USA Today piece that came out on September 9th, 2018. Several Ashley Stewart Leadership Scholarships will be presented to female students who exemplify strong achievements in business, science, math or technology and who demonstrate stewardship in their communities. This year we visited schools such as Medgar Evers, Chicago State, Rutgers-Newark, Clark Atlanta, Texas Southern and will be visiting FAMU this October. At the Finding Ashley Stewart Finale, we will be awarding well north of $100,000 in scholarships and donations to students and charities by celebrities and business leaders in front of a star-studded packed house.
All applicants for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:
Student must be a full-time sophomore or junior attending the current college.
Student must be female.
Student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Student must be in one of the following disciplines: Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Communications, Fashion Merchandising, Accounting, or Entrepreneurship.
An essay of 250-300 words (Answering the above questions)
Fancy:  What do you find most rewarding about working with the Ashley Stewart brand?
 The most rewarding part about working with Ashley Stewart is seeing the expressions on our consumers’ faces once we’ve made their dreams come true! Our “girl†is a true ride or die customer of the brand, and it’s amazing how we can turn a dream that she thought was unachievable into something very possible.  It’s such a rewarding feeling to working in a field that I love. I’m happy to be doing meaningful work for myself and for our “girlâ€Â!
