How This Doula Is Providing Resources To Help New BIPOC Mothers

Black, Native American and Alaska Native women are about three times more likely to die from causes related to pregnancy, compared to white women in the United States, according to the CDC.

Virtual doula agency That’s Major! was founded to address the inexcusable state of postpartum care in America, which overwhelmingly affects BIPOC. That’s Major! is the only service that uniquely matches mothers with a dedicated doula who provides daily, individualized support. That’s Major! serves as a much needed informed and vocal advocate during pregnancy and postpartum. The doulas are trained to monitor/identify health concerns and then assist these mothers in getting the medical care they need.

That’s Major! is also the only giftable resource that allows friends and family to gift non-discriminatory, virtual postpartum care. For the cost of a latte a day, mothers can text questions, consult with specialists and receive treatment for perinatal anxiety/depression—all without leaving the couch.
