A few weeks ago Altovise Pelzer invited me to speak at the World Voice League Virtual Summit. The World Voice League Summit is an expanding community of speakers who are determined to share their knowledge in order to create business opportunities, change legacies and be the change that is needed globally.
I decided to share 5 tips on how you can work with the media and maximize your exposure, stemming from my soon to be nine years of being an editor. Watch the video.Â
In case you didn’t catch them all here is a quick list.
- Have your publicist or a team member pitch you to various outlets. Some people even pitch themselves in 3rd
- If you are not as established, you may have to purchase your media placement (advertisement or paid features), but that is ok and it is totally worth it, because you are widening your network.
- Ask media outlets to be the media sponsor or media partner for your event. Sometimes you may have to pay for this as well, but a good media outlet will make it worth it.
- If you have a product, see if the media outlet may be looking for certain items for shoots or marketing materials. You can offer them your product and receive product placement, and a respectable company will mention your brand in some form or fashion
- Create content, because content is key. Whether you decide to guest blog on something in your respective field or if you offer your product for collaboration or a review, partnering in this sense is really good and again it gets more eyes on your brand.
A little more about World Voice League:
Each member has either started a business or wants to start a business that they can use to create social change in one of five areas: Childhood Abuse, Domestic Violence, Human Sex Trafficking, Homelessness and Poverty. It takes a village, so the World Voice League has become the Virtual Community Center of Hope in a time where people need it most. With live events, an annual virtual summit, digital resource center, virtual accountability community and a networking bank of entrepreneurs, there is opportunity for personal development and business growth. The glue that holds it together is the phrase “Each One Teach One†and we ask that a part of the commitment of being a member includes you adding a digital training to the digital resource center. Each February we hold the World Voice Summit, a month long summit of international entrepreneurs who are finding ways to have their Voice heard. Presenters will have backgrounds that range from Heath & Wellness to Real Estate and Investing. Sessions each day last for three hours which includes teaching and Q & A.
This is not your average virtual summit. We pride ourselves in presenting a “no fluff†platform where attendees are able to access REAL and RELEVANT strategies. Gain access to the tools you need to have YOUR VOICE heard around the world!
