Ignorance Proving To Be Boxer Adrien “The Problem” Broner’s Biggest Problem

Saturday night, Las Vegas was the focus of attention as the 40-year-old boxing legend Manny Pacquiao took on the very talented, but controversial challenger Adrien “The Problem” Broner. The enticing matchup took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as Pacquiao’s WBA Welterweight Title Belt was on the line. With the use of a potent body attack, and timely combinations being thrown each round, Pacquiao won a unanimous decision. Broner didn’t take losing well as he once again took advantage of an opportunity to place his ignorance on display.

Broner’s inexcusable behavior began at the November 19th press conference in New York. Pacquiao spoke about how he felt he had something to prove. He also mentioned the challenge Adrien Broner presents. “My opponent is fast and a high caliber fighter. I have to work hard and train hard to give the fans a good fight,” Pacquiao said. The future Hall of Famer carried himself in a humble and professional manner.

The 29-year old Cincinnati native used the first press conference as a chance to deliver a terrible attempt at stand-up comedy. “I got the whole hood with me just like he got the whole Philippines with him. I don’t even know how to spell that,” Broner said. As the Q&A portion of the press conference continued, Adrien Broner consistently gave profanity laced answers and punch lines the audience didn’t find to be humorous.”Y’all gave a young n*gga a chance to make a $100 million dollars. Y’all got me f*cked up, if y’all think I’m going to lose to Manny Pacquiao. I’m about to beat his ass on God and ‘em, and I don’t know who and ‘em is,” Broner stated.

Things went from bad to worse in reference to Adrien Broner’s behavior at the final press conference prior to fight night. Legendary boxing analyst Al Bernstein attempted to ask Broner a question, and Broner responded in a disrespectful manner.

“I don’t f*ck with you bro. You talk too much sh*t on Twitter,” Broner said.

Bernstein seemed a bit surprised by the response. Bernstein then asked Broner if he was referring to him. “Yeah you b*tch ass n*gga. I’m going to let you know. I already feel you against me,” Broner stated.

The former WBA light welterweight title holder was just getting warmed up as he continued to show no class. The self proclaimed ambassador of the hood delivered racial slurs at Pacquiao fans. “I got cat for your dinner, and I got some sautéed German Shepherd for you in the back,” Broner stated. Not realizing what he said was a critical error, Broner repeated the offensive statements in an interview moments later.

Adrien “The Problem” Broner talked the talk, but he didn’t walk the walk as Manny Pacquiao earned a unanimous decision.

Prior to conducting the post fight interview, Jim Gray told Adrien Broner that they were going to conduct the interview in a professional manner. Jim Gray’s disclaimer was completely ignored by Adrien Broner. “Y’all know I beat that boy. They trying to get that money again with Pacquiao and Floyd. It’s cool because I’m still that n*gga,” Broner said.

When Jim Gray pointed out Broner’s record is 3 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw in his last seven fights, Broner gave an awkward response. “I’m three, three, and one in my last seven but I would be seven and o against you.” 63-year old Jim Gray threw a counter punch by responding: Well that wouldn’t mean much, that’s the end of this interview.”

Adrien Broner has all the tools to be special in the ring, but for some reason he can’t put it together when he faces marquee opponents. The way he carries himself in front of the media is completely unacceptable.

Some people say he’s trying to be Floyd. One thing about Floyd Mayweather is the fact his antics were funny, entertaining, and marketed the fight. Broner’s version is disrespectful, ignorant, and embarrassing. It’s hard to understand why boxing commissions allow this behavior without any disciplinary actions. Maybe if his boxing license was at risk he would make improvements in reference to his ignorant behavior. Adrien Broner is an incredible boxing talent; let’s just hope his behavior problems don’t turn him into a wasted boxing talent.
