Nia: Nia is a perfectly imperfect girl from “North Philly” with a mixture of purpose and passion for Self- empowerment and Natural Healing. Nia is also like every woman coming from adversities who understands the importance of healing.
Brown God’s Beauty is a brand of products that connects you to your authentic beauty on the outside through natural solutions. At the same time, we are promoting natural healing from the inside too.
Christina: Tell us a little bit about Brown Gods.
Nia: Brown Gods Beauty is a skin/self-care company that provides all-natural healing solutions for everyday problems through unique collections. We don’t have one way of thinking about products and product formulation. We make what heals!

Christina: What inspired you to create Brown Gods?
Nia: Brown Gods Beauty was started in 2019. I had experienced the loss of both my mother and father just six months apart. During their transitional period, I began to go through a personal self-healing journey that sparked my creativity. I had lost my natural glow just from the stress of it all. I started to feel like I was losing it. I didn’t feel like myself. I just lost the two most important people in my life at only 28 years old. My world felt like it was disappearing around me. Although I knew I had to be ok because I had my seven-year-old daughter to still think of. I didn’t always think I would be able to make it to a better place after that. So I sat in my apartment for about six months straight in 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic and committed myself to healing. I started to go back and think of my childhood and piece together a picture of what I thought my life should look like now. I no longer have my parents as a source of information about myself that I may not know.
I rewrote my own story and began to become more creative with my outlook on things. I also started to think of my parents and wanted some type of healing for them as well. Knowing the cause of their transition came from a lack of knowledge of the importance of nature and self-healing. So I began working on making solutions to do just that. Brown Gods was born. I often refer to myself as a Lotus Flower because of the murky and muddy roots I came up from. So now Brown Gods is the lotus flower of natural solutions because it was rooted during a dark time in my life and is blossoming into something beautiful today, helping and healing naturally.
Christina: I love the name of your company. Why did you choose that name?
Nia: Thank you so much! Brown Gods was named after my father. He was so proud of his last name, which is Brown; when he transitioned, I felt I needed something that would always remind me of him. I am also a Brown Girl who believes that God is within us all, turning into “Brown Gods.” We are “The Gods,” not literally but metaphorically.
Christina: Can you give the readers some key things they need to prioritize regarding skincare?
Nia: Your skin is the largest organ on your body. Your skin is what protects your internal functions and allows them to remain safe. Unfortunately, we are exposed to all forms of toxins and chemicals most of us aren’t even aware of. We have to be even more conscious of what we are subjecting ourselves to these days with so many of these artificial and harmful chemicals so prevalent. Before exposing yourself to these things unknowingly, try all-natural products created to have the same effectiveness with fewer side effects.
Christina: Why was it so important to you that your products are made in Ghana?
Nia: When thinking about going back to nature and understanding the importance of natural healing, the first place that came to mind for “Brown Gods” was Africa. I am an American woman, but I understand the importance of the title being “African- American.” Africa is the birthplace of a nation of powerful, amazing “Brown Gods.” I think it’s important when people try our products and experience their natural healing. They understand that they incorporate this African culture into their lives, from growing and handpicking the plants to infusing our “Gold” Serum for days to increase potency. These products are made with care by these women who are very aware of natural healing power.
Christina: Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like our readers to know about?
Nia: We will be releasing our 2nd collection of products this summer. This time targeting your smell senses with our fragrance line. What makes this line of fragrances different from others is that they can all be worn as unisex scents. We have a scent for Peace and Harmony, Romance, and an Uplifting blend. These scents are more aromatherapy for that little pick me up at any given time. I’m excited about this collection and my team’s creativity put into the formulations by blending the essential oils.
