Comedian J.B. Smoove has expanded his partnership with the Crown Royal brand to work with them on the Purple Bag Project. The Purple Bag Project is an initiative to pack 1 million care packages by the year 2020 for those serving in the armed forces overseas and those affected by natural disasters. The Curb Your Enthusiasm actor took out time on December 12, 2018 to pack bags around New York City. I had a chance to speak with JB in between stops.
JB was very excited about his partnership with the Crown Royal brand. As you know, he has been a spokesperson for the brand for a few years promoting the Crown Royal Apple and the Crown Royal Vanilla lines. JB started the interview off by giving me recipes to use Crown Royal in. He stated that the vanilla was very good in hot chocolate, and he swears by the JB Smoove Banana Pudding Smoothie recipe. He told me to make sure to Google it, I shall. He joked about taking on the name Vanilla Smoove. Yea, this guy is a hoot!
He said it had been an amazing morning so far. He had visited the fire department in Crown Heights, Engine 234/ Ladder 123. It is important to him to take care of our 1st responders, and he stated that he felt like the 2nd responder, as he was taking care of them. The comedian expressed throughout the interview how this initiative was very dear to his heart. He states, “It costs nothing to giveâ€. He knows it is the holiday season and makes mention that everyone is used to receiving during this season, why not make it a point to give. Something he said that stuck out to me, “Give as much as you expect to receive under your tree or whatever holiday you celebrate. It’s about giving more than receiving.â€Â 
This is truly an amazing campaign for him. He is packing bags in New York at this time, but they are looking to expand to other areas where JB may go on sight to pack the care bags. It is really important to him. He says he feels like Santa and is happy to be doing his part.
JB and Crown Royal are looking to pack over 1 million care bags by 2020 during The Purple Bag Project. This is only the beginning, and they will keep their efforts going throughout the new year until 2020.
