It’s this mentality that has earned her recognition from national platforms and leaders across the globe. But beyond the stages and spotlight features, her heart lies in helping others rewrite their own stories—boldly and unapologetically.
Today, Laurinda Andujar opens up with us about her journey, the hard lessons that shaped her, and what it truly means to lead from a place of truth. Let’s dive into her SwagHer Society Story.
Journey & Purpose
Honestly, this journey was personal. I never intended to write books or put my thoughts and failures out there for the world to scrutinize. I was just trying to be the best version of myself and rewrite history for my children. I needed them to know that we are not required to succumb to stereotypes or perpetuate the generational trauma that came before us.
So, when I found my story was inspiring others, I reluctantly went with it. It proved very fruitful just being my true, authentic self. By doing so, I opened the doors for others to do the same. That’s when transformation entered the room. It has been a challenging journey, and I haven’t looked back since.
My time in coaching and consulting crafted everything that I do and the person I’ve become. You can’t just sit in front of an audience and talk about lived experience, although it’s impactful. You must understand the importance of blending evidence-based information with those experiences to provide the best outcome.
With that said, I had to learn, study, and seek knowledge that not only validated my thoughts but challenged my wrong way of thinking. I had to become a student of the business. I started gobbling up all the information I could. I saw a need, I was compelled to address it, and I became a life-long learner to add value.

Challenge & Growth
One of the most challenging lessons I’ve learned while helping other leaders is that mindset is everything.
If someone doesn’t have the basic desire to change, I can’t do the work for them—no matter how much potential I see. People have to want to change. They must hold themselves accountable and own their decisions. I can’t come up with their action plan, because then, I own their results. That alone equals failure.
That lesson has allowed me to meet people where they are. It also showed me the importance of conserving currency of any type. I cannot allow people to drop their issues on me and walk away without addressing them. I am not an unloading dock.
I am not a savior, and everyone is not my assignment. I also learned that some people you need to lead gently. Some you need to push off the cliff. And some, you need to leave where they are until they are ready to own their wins and their losses.
SwagHer & Visibility
As simple as it sounds, I just got comfortable being my true, authentic self. I told my story as only I could, and that allowed others to navigate toward me. People do not need perfection; they need you to be real.
I boldly shared what most wanted to hide. I was real, raw, and at times unhinged about the struggles I faced, and I was never one to gatekeep the resources that helped me heal. I chose genuine partnership over pretense. Connection is everything, and true connection gets you a seat at the table. Your character then keeps you at the table. People have consistently mentioned my name in rooms that I never stepped a foot in because a culture of trust has been curated.
People underestimate the importance of visibility. It’s simple: if no one knows you are there and what you do, you cannot make an impact.
But visibility is critical, and who you are in front of trumps just being seen. Is this the correct audience for my brand? I can be invited to every table, but if the room doesn’t align with my vision, I’m wasting time and energy. Read the room. Conserve your energy, be focus-driven, and partner with those moving in the same direction.

Practical Tips & Protecting Your Peace
My most actionable piece of advice is: Do not blindly follow the masses, as you will end up watering down your impact. I am a person of faith and firmly believe that when we are shown our purpose, we can’t expect everyone to understand it. You have to know who you are.
People are often full of advice, but that advice does not always come with the required knowledge. Take everything with a grain of salt. Listen, take note, and decipher what information is yours to walk away with. Consuming everyone’s advice may take you off your intended path.
When it comes to balance, I am still learning. The most impactful thing I’ve learned to do is say “no” and “not at this time.” You cannot take on every opportunity. You will burn out.
We need people to survive, but just because someone invites you to the table doesn’t mean they value your being there. Choose you repeatedly. Some folks truly value you and your knowledge, while others covet your gifts. When you understand the difference, you will have peace and be able to set boundaries that protect your mental well-being.
“Me time” keeps me grounded. I love being next to any water source. I also absolutely love sitting quietly in a dark room and processing information. Being alone excites me because I have dealt with the uncomfortable places in my life and I genuinely like myself—the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am spiritual and connect with God for strength. I journal, find a nice spot to perform spoken word, or create my own creative space.
Legacy & Impact
The impact I hope to leave is simple: I want people to love the skin they are in. I want each individual to realize they are not an afterthought, that they are allowed to be brilliant, and that they are allowed to take up space.
When it is all said and done, I want to be remembered for being kind and modeling what self-love looks like. I want people to understand the importance of mental health and well-being. I want people to feel empowered in their decision-making. Most of all, I want to be remembered for extending grace to people when they are at their lowest.
