Lori Harvey, Heaux or Just Single?

Five days ago, Lori Harvey broke the internet by posting pictures with eligible heartthrob Michael B Jordan. Since then, I have seen many posts asking: would you like Ciara’s prayer or Lori’s finesse, is Lori a Hoe, etc., and so on. Many are coming from other black women, and that part is very disheartening. The sad part is I almost expected it from black men. For so long, black men were able to date in the open, however many women they would like, and no one would say anything. The moment that women take control of their dating experience, then here we are.

Lori is single! Let me write that one mo’ time for those that need to grab their glasses. Lori, with her beautiful self, is (or was) single. Single people can date whoever they please. They can talk to as many people as they want at the same time. It is almost like people forget that dating is in cycles. Lori definitely lives by my rule of thought, date, and date often. She is a gorgeous young lady that is ONLY 24. It is almost like y’all want her to settle with one man when some of y’all were dealing with many different people at that age. It seems that y’all want her just to settle down, but for WHY?!?! It is not her fault that so many men are attracted to her and want to give her so much. Just because they go on vacation, shopping, or seen out does not mean they are having sex. What it means is she is checking her options and seeing what fits for her.

Are you mad because it’s Michael B Jordan? I remember being younger, and if someone were dating the guy you were interested in, girls would pick that poor girl apart. She will be called all types of names. Why are y’all like this? I am not saying to be happy for her. By all means, don’t throw a celebration, but don’t tear her apart either because he made a decision, and that decision was not you. Many do this even if their mate is not faithful. They will pick the woman apart instead of saying, HE made a choice. This was his decision.

All pretty girls go through this. Didn’t Meagan Good go through this as well, prior to her getting married? If you are a pretty girl, black in Hollywood, or in the limelight, you get this treatment. Especially from other black women. We must look at their dating pool. We may date and date often, but no one is trying to take pictures of us and know who we are dating. This is different for her. Lori has a successful (step) father and is a very gorgeous woman. I know I have said that many times already. Why must she dim her light because people want to know what she is doing? Why must she dim her light because several men would like to be with her? Why do we want this young lady to dim her light at all? It is almost like, anyone that is pretty; other women have an issue with them. Her pretty don’t take away from your pretty. Stop reflecting your non-self-worth and insecurities on others. If I were in those same circles that Lori is in, I would be dating just like her. I would not care, just as she doesn’t. I would be like, oh, you want my attention, where are we going? These men have the means. I will admit that some of her situationships have been a little sketchy, and I would not have gone out with; I know one or maybe two. This still does not make her a Heaux.

Single people can date who they want and how often they want until they meet the person they want to be with. Stop trying to make people settle and do what you would have done. She has the self-confidence to pull these situations off. I just really hate seeing black women, especially go after another black woman as many have. I hate seeing black men do it as well. It is sad as heck. So from this girl to Lori, Go Lori, Go, Lori, Go!!! Let the best man win…Yass!!!!
