Monesha “Ms. Atl Doll” Clark, originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, started as a party and event promoter in the summer of 2014. Monesha has hosted several events throughout the city of Atlanta, Georgia, and promotional modeling for several venues, including opera Night Club. In the summer of 2016, Doll was offered an opportunity to join a local internet radio show as a host for a rotating chair. With Doll’s fan base and charismatic personality, she was able to land a full time and permanent spot as one of the hosts on the show, where she stayed until the later part of January 2019. She then decided to pursue further media and journalism opportunities.Â
Monesha has written for Kontrol Magazine and hosted several celebrity interviews and events. In 2017 Mo released the official “Ms. Atl Doll” 2017 calendar, landing her the title of “published model” with Atlanta’s FB studios. “Mo Clark” can be seen on one of amazon’s hottest urban dramas, “Music and Murder,” directed by Greg Galloway, as the feisty character, “Lace.” Monesha also started her own lipstick line, “Myka J,” in 2014, which has expanded to lashes and several different colors and textures of lipsticks. Although busy, she still found time to pursue her passion of creating her own radio show, DaPostUp, an internet radio show catered to the dreamers turned entrepreneurs. She keeps you up to speed and in the know with what’s happening in Atlanta, Georgia. Just your average girl next door with connections in ATL.
Christina: What is your SwagHer? What makes Mo, Mo?
Mo: What is my SwagHer.. hmmm. I definitely go against the grain. Sure there are times I’ve wanted so badly to fit in and to be accepted, but that was when I was much younger. I’ve decided to create my own and do my own thing. I choose what I want to be a part of. I create my own goals and try to execute them as much as possible.
Christina: Why did you decide to work in the entertainment industry?
Mo: The industry chose me. I’ve been talking a lot since I’ve been on Earth. My uncle nicknamed me “Talk A Lot.” I can remember actually pretending I was in commercials while sitting at the dinner table. Nonetheless, speaking with people comes naturally to me.
Christina: How has your experience been as a model?Â
Mo: I’m elated that social media came about. I’ve only done promo modeling (thank GOD). It can be difficult to land endorsements for brands looking for a certain “look,” so I gravitate more towards being a brand influencer and advertising products as a whole.Â
Christina: Tell us a little about your business, Myka J.
Mo: Myka J is my makeup line, which I chose to name after my kids, Amaiyah, Kameryan, and my son that I lost while in my first trimester, Jordyan. I created the line because I felt like there were so many big-name brands at the time that weren’t showcasing a lot of minorities. I decided that I wanted products that represented me. I have created a line that showcases bright, outside of the box colors. Tons of glitters and shimmers for everyone, lol.Â
Christina: What is your favorite thing about being an entertainment host?
Mo: DaPostUp, which has now turned in to DaPostUp Ent, LLC, is my multimedia brand that I created to allow me to be able to host, write, and interview guests. My favorite thing about this far would be opening the platform up so that more people that look like me can have a place to share their stories no matter how many followers they have.Â
Christina: You have your own internet radio show called “DaPostUp.” Can you tell us a little about it? Where can readers go to listen?
Mo: The radio show has gone visual effective December 2020. It can be viewed on Instagram, Facebook, Periscope, Twitter, YouTube, Status Network app, Roku (Status Network ~ Global Vision TV), Amazon Fire Stick (Status Network ~ Global Vision TV). If they want to listen to it, they can catch the replay on Anchor FM, Spotify, Google Podcast, Apple Podcast, Pocket Cast, Radio Public, Overcast, and many more.
Christina: What would you tell someone who wants to do what you do? Any advice?
Mo: I would say don’t put yourself in a box. When faced with obstacles, remain focused and stand firm in your beliefs. Try your best not to allow anyone to take you out of character.Â
Christina: What can we expect next from Mo Clark?
Mo: More great interviews, more acting roles, and I’m currently writing my biography, which will give details on how I got started, things I’ve gone through and overcome in the industry, and my family journey,Â
Christina: Do you have any upcoming events or projects that you would like our readers to know about?Â
Mo: The short movie “Shared Feelings” is out now, in which I play “Auntie.” The TV show “Music and Murder” which I play “Lace” is steaming now on Tubi TV. I’m currently writing bios and putting press kits together for people either already in the industry or trying to break into the industry.
Christina: Is there anything else you would like to share?Â
Mo: Make sure you tune in to DaPostUp YouTube channel and check out my brands Myka J Lipsticks and Glitz and Glam Goodies.
