As a wife, mother, author, inspirational speaker, pastor, corporate professional, entrepreneur, media personality, and educator, Dr. Miracle Pettenger walks in her passion, helping people identify and pursue purposeful and productive lives with confidence and integrity. Many people have asked her, “How did you get the name Miracle?” Before she was born, the doctors warned her mother that if she were to continue with the pregnancy, the baby would be born mentally retarded with water on the brain. However, being a woman of God, her mother, Dorene J. King, refused to believe the doctors’ report and went home and began to pray. As she was praying, God spoke to her and said: “Her name shall be called Miracle, for I will prove to my people that I am yet a miracle-working God.” Standing on this word, Mrs. King gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on January 31, 1979. And as for all the complications and defects that the doctors had predicted, well, none of them came to pass. Even as a child and young adult, the hand of God were on Ms. Pettenger’s life as she was an exceptional honor student earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Math/Computer Science and later a Master’s Degree in Information Systems Management while achieving a successful 14-year corporate career as an IT Professional for IBM. She has over 25 years of biblical ministerial experience and completed her Doctoral Degree in Theological Studies from Regency Christian College in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Pettenger shares practical tools for developing a positive self-image, as well as identifying and walking out your purpose through difficult seasons of life. She has personally overcome her mother’s sudden death, personal prenatal sickness, the parental challenges of premature birth, infant open-heart surgery of her son, and being a two-time NICU mother.Â
Yet through it all, she has found the strength to endure and joy in pursuing her passions as:Â
- AUTHOR of inspirational books and faith-based devotionals that share practical principles for purpose-filled living.Â
- SPEAKER – inspiring and motivating others in a weekly podcast to operate with clarity, direction, integrity, and purpose throughout life’s daily routines.Â
- ENTREPRENEUR – owner and operator of MP2XEVENTS LLC, a logistical management, business administration & document services firm for individuals, non-profits, and businesses.
- PASTOR of Proceeding Word Apostolic Ministries, Inc., a local ministry in Virginia Beach, VA.
- MEDIA PERSONALITY – host and executive producer of The Miracle Connection, which provides inspirational content to empower viewers to connect to their divine purpose through the power of God’s Word.

“Helping everyday people live productive and purpose-filled lives.”
Christina: What was the hardest thing you’ve ever had to go through in life? Did it end how you expected it to?Â
Miracle: The hardest thing I have had to go through in life was realizing that my mother would no longer be with me to rejoice in the blessings or give me sound wisdom through the challenges. My mother died unexpectedly three days before my thirty-third birthday and three months before my wedding. She was my mentor, coach, pastor, and as I became an adult, my best friend. Her transition left me with many uncertainties of how I envisioned my future. Yet, it was the lessons that I learned from her about how to develop my own personal relationship with God that sustained me through challenges and comforted me through joys that would follow.
Christina: Suppose you could go back to your younger self, in a season where you thought you had it all. What would you say to your younger self?Â
Miracle: I would tell myself to make wise financial investments and invest in yourself by not being afraid to charge your true worth. Stop selling yourself cheap to appeal to everyone. If you do not acknowledge your gifts and talents’ true value, others will devalue and minimize the superior quality and excellence in the products you present.
Christina: How meaningful are friendships to you? Do you value your friendships, your sisterhood, more than you value material possessions?Â
Miracle: I do not use the term “friend” lightly. My true friends are also my sisters, accountability partners, and women of integrity that I trust to support, encourage, correct, and educate me in areas that I may need it the most. These types of friendships and sisterhood relationships are truly priceless!
Christina: How significant is your name to you?
Miracle: My name reminds me that no matter the unexpected hardships or challenging circumstances, God has empowered and equipped me to produce life and good success that is not dependent on the validation of others nor my own strength, but rather, total confidence and trust in God’s ability to work through me.
Christina: How do you manage being an author, entrepreneur, speaker, and educator?
Miracle: I manage the multiple roles by setting manageable priorities, throwing out unrealistic expectations, and being confident in the work that is accomplished with integrity and a spirit of excellence.
