Chante Ramsey, the lead photographer of VySyn Photography, is passionate, self-taught portraits and fashion photographer. Since 2005, Chante has captured faces, places and extracted the beauty from within and the essence of each moment through her lens. “I believe that I can capture this because I also love people,” she explains. The combination of years of learning the technical elements of photography and understanding people has been the cornerstone of VySyn Photography. Through her camera, she can see the beauty of each individual, and with each photo, she succeeds in letting the world see that too. Currently, Chante has expanded the VySyn Photography brand to serve her clients through the Elevating Your Brand Visual Coaching program. This 6-week program focuses on working with artists and entrepreneurs to create storytelling visuals that align with their brand. The coaching program’s services include photo portfolio review, virtual style sessions, photoshoots, and more.
Christina: What is your SwagHer? What makes Chante, Chante?
Chante: Honestly, it is my thoughtfulness as an empath and passion for my craft as an artist who permeates everything I do.
Christina: What got you into photography? When was that point in your life when you decided you wanted to become a photographer?
Chante: Photography was and still is a source of healing for me. I grab my camera to turn inward to create something beautiful and stimulate the happiness that lies within. I didn’t choose photography – it chose me.
Christina: What is your favorite camera to work with?
Chante: I’m flexible – I’ve used a Canon, Nikon, and Sony. I love each brand for different reasons. Once I understand the mechanics of the equipment, everything else falls into place.
Christina: Tell us a little bit about, Elevating Your Brand Visual Coaching program?
Chante: My coaching program focuses on entrepreneurs who want to level up their visual branding. In a time where digital media is the first introduction to potential clients about one’s brand, you want to be intentional in your message about your brand, both in your marketing and in the images. The program services vary based on the needs of the entrepreneur and the stage of their growth. We have a VIP Day package that offers one day of customized coaching and brand auditing along with accountability follow-up. Lastly, we have 3-week, and 6-week packages enabling a deeper dive in the brand assessment followed by a styled photoshoot – these packages are envisioned for new businesses or businesses that have recently rebranded.
Christina: Why did you choose to start coaching others?
Chante: My helpful disposition led me to this place. It wasn’t intended at all. My clients happen to be entrepreneurs, and we often chatted about their “why” for investing so much into their dreams. I connect with my clients and want to help them succeed – from sharing their good news on social media to giving them advice on set about their posing or the shoot’s concept. It started with me advising on designing a structured program to address a cross-section of needs for entrepreneurs in all industries.
Christina: Who or what inspires you?
Chante: My supporters and clients that have become longtime friends continue to encourage me to keep it going. I won’t stop shooting my creative projects, incorporating my love for fashion, or tapping into my creative curiosity. It’s my joy!
Christina: Do you have any upcoming events or projects that you would like our readers to know about?
Chante: I recently created a learning and employment track for college students (and recent graduates) in the field of visual and digital marketing for businesses. I offer a semester-long internship for up to two interns to work with me to understand the potential of content creation using social media, how to connect online with one’s targeted market effectively and the importance of being a storyteller of your brand. In addition to our current video podcast, Brand Story Hour featuring local entrepreneurs, we are excited to launch a new media series later this summer that promotes these businesses in an inspiring way.
Christina: Is there anything else you would like to share?
Chante: Our team consists of a consortium of versatile creatives from makeup artists to wardrobe stylists whose focus is putting the client first. We enjoy working with everyone and want to bring their vision to life!
